Portside Blues
—
When I planned the moodboard for this test shoot, I was hoping for a sunny Singapore with its wide open blue sky. But I love how melancholic and bittersweet the photos turned out in the end. As a photographer, it's nice to see that I have grown and am no longer dependent on the weather to create beautiful images.
However, photography is an art that requires good teamwork. So, I want to thank my gaming mutual-turned-assistant photographer of the day, Michael, for encouraging me to step out of my shell. I also want to apologize for making him do all the reflective work while he was on vacation. 🫣 Without him, I would never have gone to Singapore on my own. Not that I have anything against Singaporeans, but having lived in a city my whole life, my idea of a vacation is not another city. 😆 The trip turned out to be so enjoyable, though!
Working with Chantal as the model was also so much fun. She’s so different from the gentle and delicate compcard I first saw; she's carefree and very energetic! Gerri was sweet and meticulous. The passing thunderstorm and the humidity were really challenging for us, especially for hair and makeup, but she managed it all wonderfully. I also invited my long-time friend Faith
@itsfaifuu , whom I've known since my Melbourne days. It was nostalgic and heartwarming to have her join us. Thank you for lending me your umbrella!
Next time, I’d love to stay longer and hang out more. I realized now that the true charm of a city lies in its people! 🐟🐋🌊⛵️☁️🏙☔️
Last but not least, a big thanks to my very amazing stylist Angie, who styled everything remotely from Jakarta! Thank you for putting all these cute outfits together so quickly.
