Tonight, @__thals and @greeneggsandhamza_ won't let you leave hungry. Knucklebones: a slow, South African lamb curry that is rich, tender, the kind of dish that's built over time and meant to be eaten the same way. With cumin rice, soaking it all in, holding everything together. Or Aloo Gobi: soft potatoes and cauliflower, spiced just right. Comforting in the best way. The kind of veg dish that never feels like a second option. Both plates come with braised cabbage and sambal. Something soft, something sharp. Balance. Heat. A little brightness cutting through. It's the kind of meal that feels like it's been cooked for a room, not an audience. Shared, generous, made to be eaten slowly. And then we settle into The Big City with @neil.kumar . Presenting KHANA by @__thals & @greeneggsandhamza_ Sweet corn & cheese samosa w/ tamarind chilli jam Lamb Boti + coconut rice w/ saltbush tomato chutney & salad. Food offering for Leftovers. We explored cultural preservation and erasure through food. @__thals and I drew inspiration from our ancestors as a vessel of storytelling their resilience. It’s true that it takes a village, thank you @aleenarizvi for putting on Leftovers and shout out to all the artist who exhibited and helped raise money for @thesameerproject and @palestineredcrescent A big thank you to the following sweethearts, banana leaves from @lucy_alcorn & @nm.irisha /mum. Leftovers Menu Curated by Gayathiri Manoharan and Athalia Joseph, our menu draws on personal and ancestral recipes, carrying stories of resilience, memory, and home. Rooted in their cultural lineages, it honours food as a vessel for storytelling and survival. Gayathiri Manoharan @gayatrigger An Eelam Tamil-born cook, event producer, and food stylist with a deep love for bringing people together through communal cooking and finding new, creative ways to celebrate Southeast-Asian flavours. Athalia Joseph @__thals A South African-born food creative who has been passionate about food since childhood, inspired by her parents’ love of cooking and community. She regularly hosts warm, generous dinners and uses food to explore memory, identity, and resilience. Halal and vegan options available. Food will be served until sold out.
