Enigmatic London outfit Y (@_y_y_why_y_y ) release their ‘ENTER’ EP, out now via SO Recordings (Enter Shikari, Deadletter, Big Special) & Hideous Mink Records (Alien Chicks, Opus Kink). Emerging from the capital’s underground scene without much interest in fitting in, Y are a collective built on friction. Formed by Adam Brennan and Sophie Coppin during a period of isolation - a way of making sense of boredom, frustration and noise, the group have quickly grown into something louder, sharper and harder to ignore. From the cinematic chaos of opener ‘Duplicate’, to the sci-fi disco swagger of ‘May’, the glam-rock madness of ‘Generate The Oh No’, the punk-electronic punch of ‘Skipper’, and the all-out statement of intent that is ‘Waiting/Winning’, ‘ENTER’ captures Y in full attack mode - confident, unpredictable, and inviting listeners deeper into their world. Forged through relentless shows at The Windmill (a rite of passage for South London’s most adventurous acts) and beyond, Y have built their reputation on live performances that feel closer to a collective purge than a gig. Having ticked off countless supports with the likes of Fat Dog, KEG and Warmduscher, as well as several sold-out London headliners of their own, the band are in the midst of a mammoth 2026 on the live front with festival dates galore (incl. The Great Escape) and a debut UK headline tour currently taking place this month to coincide with their EP release. Having kicked off the year with a spot in Dork Magazine’s 2026 HYPE List and an appearance at DIY Magazine’s Hello 2026 London live series, Y continue to attract widespread plaudits throughout the press landscape (DIY, Dork, So Young, The Line Of Best Fit, Clash, Rolling Stone UK, Rough Trade, Consequence of Sound, Under The Radar) , as well as multiple spins on the BBC 6 Music (Steve Lamacq, Amy Lamé, Emily Pilbeam) and Radio X (John Kennedy) airwaves, positioning them perfectly for the arrival of ‘ENTER’.

London-based songwriter Kamran Khan (@___kamran__khan___ ) announces his anticipated debut album ‘I Came From Nowhere & Nowhere Is Where I Am Going’, set for release September 25th via AWAL. He also shares new single ‘Goodnight’ (out today). Khan will debut some of these songs on tour this month with Deary, as well as slots at Dot To Dot Festival in Bristol and Nottingham. You might not know the name, but Kamran Khan’s fingerprints have been leaving marks on London’s indie music scene for a decade now. A pillar of live shows and recordings by The Japanese House, Let’s Eat Grandma, Flyte and more recently Murkage Dave, he’s widely respected behind closed doors for his dextrous guitar-playing and intimate musicianship. But he’s also turned audiences’ heads over the years with his earnest solo work as Fake Laugh (‘Better for Me’ has amassed over 20m streams since its viral 2018 release), and the rustic, strings-infused stylings of BBC 6 Music-approved outfit pencil. His latest work, though, searches more deeply inwards than anything Khan has accomplished before, with ‘I Came From Nowhere & Nowhere Is Where I Am Going’ reckoning with formative traumas concerning family, substance abuse, relationships and career shortcomings — and boldly reframing them as bright, melodic alt-rock compositions.

Preston duo White Flowers (@whiteflowersssss ) - AKA Katie Drew and Joey Cobb - release second album Dreams For Somebody Else today via The state51 Conspiracy.  The two-piece embrace ‘sad euphoria’ - a palette starting from their well-established dream-pop sound, whilst adding the cathartic elements from dance music. The result is an album not backward in coming forward regarding its pop-sensibilities. Alongside the sparks of inspiration that came from revisiting old ideas in their ‘sketchbook approach’, there are external influences that have helped drive the narrative. As they explain: “Whilst recording the songs for ‘Dreams For Somebody Else’, we really connected with the concept of Annie Ernaux’s book, ‘The Years’ - a ‘collective autobiography’ pieced together from mismatched fragments from her past, conjuring the effect that she’s merely an observer of her own life. This concept merges into the White Flowers world, where time, rather than being restrictive, is fluid and boundless, with our music existing as an endless conversation with versions of ourselves at different stages of our lives.” The record sees them delve into trance, harnessing sequences that spin round and round in a hypnotic state of melancholy. Throughout, they play with the traditional structures of dance music through a series of repetitive hooks – “things to dwell on”, as Cobb puts it. Big thanks to @stereogum @crackmagazine @clashmagazine @thelineofbestfit @roughtrade @notion and more for the support across the campaign

Isle of Wight indie specialists ugly ozo (@uglyozo ) release ‘dive’ EP, out now via REX RECS. The ever-evolving vision of Jessica Baker, ugly ozo’s second EP marks a bold new chapter in their sonic diary exploring the messy, unfiltered corners of the female experience. Joined by sister Boo Baker (bass) and Tristan Northard (drums), the band blend raw vulnerability with electrifying hooks that demand attention, and have rapidly become one of the most talked about acts on the emerging indie landscape. Spawning lead singles ‘hi, how are you?’, ‘overkill’ and ‘jackpot’ (and this week’s focus track ‘MISERY’) ugly ozo have been lauded across the press landscape by the likes of DIY Magazine, Dork Magazine, The Line Of Best Fit, Clash, Rough Trade, Notion, CMU and Under The Radar. Primed to build on their momentum with a new collection of tracks that push their artistry further, radio support also spans BBC 6 Music’s Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq, Iggy Pop, Nathan Shepherd, Deb Grant, Chris Hawkins and Amy Lamé, as well as John Kennedy (Radio X) and Cheryl Waters (KEXP). Signed to REX RECS, the new indie label founded by producer Macks Faulkron, the EP was written and recorded at REX Studio, a creative hub that has hosted artists including Caroline Polachek, Confidence Man and Daniel Avery. With sold-out shows (incl. a London headliner at the Sebright Arms last month) and upcoming festival appearances (including The Great Escape, Dot to Dot and Gold Sounds), ugly ozo are carving their own space in the indie scene and will be supporting label-mates thistle. on their UK tour in May, before a run alongside CQ Wrestling.

Welcoming Manchester based, North East raised, Cutscene (@cutsceneband ) to the roster.  Today they announce their signing to Heist or Hit and release new single ‘Concrete Line’. The initial instrumentation of ‘Concrete Line’ sounds taut, paranoid and anxious. Brutalist guitars soar, like a tidal wave of council houses flanking a town. The inevitable demolition comes from vocalist Seb Mason’s voice.  This sonic versatility was aided and abetted by Samuel William Jones at Low Four Studios (credits include Maruja) - and can be experienced live across the UK through April and May.

Delighted to be working with Rotterdam quartet Library Card (@thisislibrarycard ) who today release new single ‘Out of Context’ via AT EASE.  Complete with roguish vibraphone touches dubbing the guitar parts, it’s a sonically taut take on post-punk, with vocalist Lot van Teylingen's sharp wordplay and infectious bon mots given centre stage. According to Lot: “Out of Context delivers a snarky comment against corporate life and late stage capitalism - with dystopian office life as its backdrop it highlights the absurdity of an unachievable work ethic and the glorification of the grind.” Find the video online now, and stream on all digital platforms.

London post-punk specialists Alien Chicks (@alienchicksband )sign to Alcopop! Records (Art Brut, Ditz, The Wytches) & announce their ‘Toys Taken At Birth’ EP, set for release October 2nd, alongside news of lead single ‘5/4’, out today (April 21st). Marking their first new material of 2026, ‘5/4’ channels the monotony of lockdown isolation, and the double life of working as full time school teachers just to keep making music (as two members of Alien Chicks do!). Building from unease into controlled chaos and the subsequent breakdown - a hallucination of a teddy bear’s picnic where life is harmonious and simple - the track snaps back with a brief clarity, turning frustration into catharsis, and restraint into a barely contained urge to tear it all down. Armed with a collection of diverse influences and a fearless approach to their genre, Alien Chicks continue to push boundaries and define expectations, whilst critical acclaim continues to gather momentum in the process. Press praise from key titles including The Independent, NME, DIY, Dork, Clash, Rolling Stone, CMU and Rough Trade has certainly helped raise their profile, as well as regular airplay across the BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders, Arielle Free, Amy Lamé), BBC 6 Music (Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson) and Radio X (John Kennedy) airwaves. Primed to head out on a UK in-store run and European tour this autumn to coincide with their EP release, the band are ready to build on their thrilling live reputation, having already supported esteemed contemporaries such as English Teacher, Lambrini Girls, Sprints, Maruja and Big Special.

Manchester risers pyncher (@pyncher ) announce their signing to cult label Heist or Hit (Westside Cowboy, Her’s) and release thrilling new single ‘One Day’. ‘One Day’ comes off the back of an acclaimed set at BBC 6 Music Festival in Manchester and ahead of a tour supporting The Sophs across the UK and Europe, before festival appearances through the summer. Translating the ferocious reputation the band have developed live, ‘One Day’ crackles with static-electricity, at once urgent and wistful. It rushes the ears with a thick smack of layered vocals before detonating into three minutes of blown-out guitars and crushed drum machine pulses. Written during a period of obsession with drum-machine-driven records by The Strokes, the fuzzed-out vocals of Ty Segall and the rawness of Neutral Milk Hotel, the track became a playground for white heat saturation and experiments in distortion.  'One Day is available to stream on all digital platforms now.

Fiona-Lee (@fionaleeofficial ) releases her second EP ‘Every Woman’ today via Gravity / Capitol Records, which will be supported by her debut UK headline tour this spring (full dates below). Teaming up with esteemed producer Thom Lewis (Sam Fender - ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ and ‘Seventeen Going Under’) for the EP, it spawned three powerful singles in the title track ’Every Woman’, ‘Not My Friends’, and ‘Imposter’, and overall defines the Yorkshire-based musician’s raw and evocative songwriting in its purest form. Fiona feels just as at home revealing her deepest emotions through devastating lyricism and vocal performance, as leaving space for soaring guitar lines, destined to hit the seats at the back of the arena. On the Every Woman as a whole, Fiona says: “This EP is about being a young woman today. It explores the internal spiralling that can take hold when navigating heavy relationships and the insecurities shaped by the expectations placed on women. Importantly, it’s about pushing through those discomforts to reach moments of peace - not backing down, and fighting for yourself even when it’s hard. Writing these songs was my way of processing the challenges and confrontations I’ve faced in my own life, and I hope people can hear elements of themselves reflected in the songs and feel less alone in their own struggles.” With tour supports already ticked off alongside the likes of CMAT and Miles Kane, as well as a sold-out headliner of her own in Leeds late last year, Fiona-Lee is certainly primed to build on her live progress in recent times. Kicking off her debut UK headline tour this month (incl. headline dates in London and Manchester) to coincide with her EP’s arrival, the artist will then commence a busy summer on the festival circuit, in addition to major support slots with The Maccabees and Paul Weller.
