Bc I know I can go non-verbal sometimes… here’s an interview feature from @voyagelamag ! Thanks for the space to share all my questions, comments, concerns and ~violent~ reactions! 🙂‍↔️ Here’s a lil recap on my life and journey trying to figure out dance, living in LA, and balancing everything in between! Incredibly thankful for everything that led me to where I am now, hella excited to keep seeing things unfold in front of me. But also, as a sign of the times, my immigration story is something I carry with me and still affects me until this day. My heart goes out to immigrants, to those who had the courage to leave the comfort of home, to those figuring it out in search for the American Dream. Probably my favorite round from @inthecircle.itc bc I got too HYPED to go against one of my very first Hip Hop teacher @berry_groove92 🔥 Ahhh it’s always an honor and a push to share the floor with my mentors and teachers. This round, I wanted to show Berry-Groove how much I’ve learned from him and overall the VSNG program but also how I was able to adapt, update, and develop my own feel and passion for the dance. Ya girl will never back down from a challenge, and duh I wanted to take the round haha I love all street styles bc it can be ever-so evolving but also deeply (and almost necessarily) personal. To learn from teachers and then have the freedom to explore and make it my own is something I don’t take for granted, and also something I’d like to share every time I dance 🙌🏼 Major props to this event and the judges for such a dope open styles bracket.
