Big shoutout to @crobar1921 for hosting - there’s no better venue in the city for a proper dance. We had some blessed local talent on the bill as well in @le_schlippy_ and @delish_disco , it all came together perfectly. A lot of work went into this one, and it was beautiful to see this party come to life. Opening up the outdoor stage at the very beginning of the day and playing b2b with @delish_disco on the inside stage was such a blast. Cleveland is proud to welcome the head honchos of Detroit’s boutique vinyl label Rocksteady Disco - Peter Croce and Eddie Logix - for an RSD takeover at Crobar. Masters of all things house, funk, balearic, world, and rare groove, their label releases and talent curation reflect their DJ style: pristine selection and impossible not to dance to. The boys from Detroit called up some of their favorite selectors to make this party kick. Y.U.K.IKO aka @legitimategroove has been digging for all sorts of exotic records for 30 years. Hailing from Tokyo and now a staple in both Chicago and Detroit, her soulful cuts of jazz, funk, and Japanese groove are recognized across the country and around the world. Jarrett Tebbets aka @hoagiedreams is a DJ and organizer of some of Pittsburgh’s most influential underground events, Hot Mass and Disco Sunday Disco. Booking and playing alongside names spanning genres like Suze Ijó, John Morales, Blessed Madonna, Young Marco, and Ge-OLOGY, we’re excited to see his range behind the decks. Rounding out the bill we have local support from residents of Say Less parties Delish and Den Hur, as well as top class dj/tastemaker Le Schlippy. Lizsco’s curation ability resonates across the dance floor for the ultimate eclectic groove. Her love for obscure beats and sounds is ever evolving to bring you the funkiest selections. She has opened for some of the best midwest techno artists such as Sassmouth, Kiddo and Karuth along with significant national acts like Calvin Stanley, No Mana, Mija, Shay de Castro, and Azzecca. Based in Columbus, Ohio, she is also 1/2 of the dark disco/indie dance duo Filthy/Gorgeous, and is a partner and resident DJ in Deep Field Explorations. This is a night to shut up and dance! It means the world to have someone we respect so much take a chance on a fledgling party. He’s got the extraordinary talent of creating some of the highest energy moments from the lowest BPMs, and it showed in his selections Friday night.
