Ward 21 – This Is How We Roll (Baby G Remix)
This one is kind of a remix - or more accurately, it flips a sample from “Glow,” the opening track on Terry Hall & Mushtaq’s 2003 album The Hour of Two Lights.
It’s produced by Jamaican dancehall producer Baby G, with raps from Ward 21, a well-known dancehall crew with a huge discography. If you’re into dancehall, they’re definitely worth checking out. Fun fact: they’re named after a psychiatric ward at the University College Hospital in Kingston - the media used to call them “the mentally disturbed ones” in their early days. 🙊
This is actually the first time I’m playing this record - got it from my homeboy @feloneezy . Picked it up for this gig since I tend to get bored playing the same style all night, so I figured why not add something to heat up the room with a bit of spice.

Nokternal - Flatline
From his own label ‘Nokternal’, released in 2001. There are just two releases on this specific label and in addition he released three more records on Crescendo Music. Definitely check out ‘Nokternal - Aurora’ if this is your thing.
I bought the other release (NOKT002) around three years ago and didn’t check his catalogue until @piepotelli pointed this one out to me - thanks piepo! He was actually present on this specific night of Fatpack and gave me the “you got this one from me” look while ‘Flatline’ was playing:).
Going from the info on Discogs, I reckon it was a side-project by Justin Spier, who produced in different groups focusing on house, breaks, acid and progressive. There are some interesting (and expensive) productions more focusing on high bpm and piano-breaks club-stuff with a 90’s feel to it.
The record played in the video has more of a subtle, minimalistic approach, still very driving, with some gentle synthy peaks.

Andrew B. - Bakers
From the label; Traditional And The Individual Talent’ on Malec, 2001
This straightforward tune with banging kicks drags me into a comfortable techno groove. I love mechanical sounds, it makes me feel like I’m in a factory surrounded by (angry) machines.
For Fatpack I made multiple Discogs orders and this record was amongst them so it was the first time playing it out loud.
(There’s no info about Andrew B. (Adriano Bussone) nor about the German label Malec.)

Ian Pooley - Enlite
I love this track it keeps building and going.
I really like the whole compliation it’s ‘’ Dave Angel - 16 Flavours Of Tech Funk’’.
I bought it in Killacutz a while ago. Already knew some of the tracks on the compilation.
My favorite on the whole compilation is ‘’Luke Slater - Stomp’’. That’s quite a busy and tough track the name ‘’Tech Funk’’ really suits the track.
I always tried to play this one when I just started out playing at houseparties in ACTA (8 years ago).
The Ian Pooley one I play quite often, but Luke Slater - Stomp a bit less, as it has a very distinct vibe, but you do can squeeze it in both more house or techno orientated sets🙂
Also please do check out Dave Angel’s discography!<3
