This show explores the diversity of choir music and its potential for transdisciplinarity. The traditional understanding and perception of choir music is refracted through the prism of the contemporary artistic approach - nonconventional space for choir performance, choir music blended with experimental electronic soundscape and new compositional techniques based on visual graphic scores. Blending the media, we aim to foster cultural dialogue about the future of choir music.
“Unfolding Echoes” will confront seemingly different principals. On one hand, there will be performed sacral choral music, which is supposed to be performed in a temple, church, or other spiritual architectural environment. Another choir will present music folklore from around the world, representing the daily life of many communities.. On the other side, we will perform a contemporary composition for electronics and choir, based on artistic research dealing with the world of lichens and wild nature. The location we chose is neither a temple nor a square or a field where people gather back in the days and sing together, nor a forest but is becoming a laboratory for experiments of co-existence.
