Emerging from the icicles, this spacious studio is ready for an artist or two. With original antique desk, cabinet storage, documentation space and easy tool and utility sink access, this spot would be an especially great fit for a sculptor, material explorer or woodworker (Could fit a floor loom or an additional large work table) but has been used for painting, drawing, and tattooing in the past as well. All schoolhouse ammenities are included.

Attempting to frame the space as the interior of an abandoned machine residing within a decommissioned factory, ‘Smashpiece’ brings together the displaced sentience existing in the works of Sibilla, Flanders, and Millstein. Lit by the soft glow of single laser diode aimed up into a chunk of plastic, the glow bounces off of the ceiling and floor, both painted with a powdered aluminum/acrylic aggregate. The rooted silver of this machine becomes its own handful of dust time and time again, asking where it comes from, how long it stays, and where it goes.

A new studio is opening in the heart of Schoolhouse, starting February 1st! This room previously hosted a tattoo artist (@evoiiiiiiiii ), but is suitable for artists of any medium or practice.
This room is spacious and provides beautiful natural light during the day. It comes with the option of keeping the current waiting room/setup (couch and coffee table), or bringing in some of your own furniture! (Tattoo supplies and equipment not provided.)
Currently, we’re looking for someone to sign onto a 3-month lease at $300/mo, with the option to renew or relocate within Schoolhouse in the warmer months.
