Seminar Series
For the past two years, I have had the great pleasure and privilege of teaching at ABK Stuttgart with support by the Mathilde Planck Foundation. Based on posthumanist philosophy and Deleuzian thought, we examined nature as a cultural concept that calls into question many of our preconceptions on the subject.
During these four semesters, we made 20+ excursions to nearby museums, local initiatives, public artworks, and gardens; discussed the students’ individual works as they developed in relation to the seminar topic; organized an outdoor exhibition for Rundgang; watched documentaries and artists’ films; and worked through challenging theories and philosophical texts in an attempt to apply them to the artworks and places we encountered.
What made it all so special was the seminar’s direction as a ‘discrimination-sensitive’ course — a challenge, but the best kind there can be. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity and for the students’ trust in joining me on this journey.
In Winter 2024 I could also teach the interdisciplinary photography master class 𝘓𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘛𝘰𝘱𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘴 at the fabulous Estonian Academy of Art and a beautiful reason to return to beloved Tallinn.
Teaching is probably the most meaningful thing I have ever done. more of it in the future! Tausend Dank euch allen and suur aitäh
