My @boilerroomtv is now live! I wanna say a massive thank you to the crowd in Sydney, this was my first time in Aus and wow what a reception. I’ve dreamt of playing a set like this since I was about 18!
I find that online sets can be rather daunting, as it’s almost impossible to encapsulate yourself as a DJ within 1 hour. However, that’s exactly what I tried my best to do here lol. Finding a balance between cohesive song selection, technical/ mixing ability and crowd control. All of what I think (personally) makes a good DJ.
I’m grateful to have been given the opportunity to do so.

Birmingham-born, London-based DJ @___keyrah has always taken an eclectic approach to her mixes. This translates into @___miscsounds , a limitless, genre-defying musical concept created by Keyrah covering radio, playlists, club nights and beyond.
We wanted to learn more about the thinking behind Misc;, and where Keyrah wishes to take her listeners with it:
“Misc; bridges my soundscape as a DJ across playlists, radio and live shows. It serves as a place to connect likeminded music lovers and a playground for me to curate new and exciting line ups with DJs I love and respect. I put a lot of consideration into each night, the same way I would when recording a radio set or curating a playlist. It all has to be cohesive. Misc; is short for Miscellaneous, as I feel like that resonates with my eclectic sound. The semi-colon represents the joining of all these genres / concepts in one space.
It’s about taking listeners on a journey, an eclectic, cohesive and immersive one. It’s a space to discover and connect with music in a way that feels intentional. Hopefully people come away feeling inspired by the music and the moments it creates.
Each and every Misc; has taken on a different format so far, whether that be the venue or the curation of the night. Last October I played all night long, but invited in 3 surprise DJs to hop in and play B2Bs with me throughout the night. I really enjoyed that as a concept. Shout out to @jordss.dj , @knownasjael and @donsurf_ for trusting in it - I hadn’t gone B2B with any of them prior!”
