@___ghooost___ is in town! 👻🔥 Mai & Rintaro are here in Portland! They will be out exploring the city by bikes until this Saturday, so if you spot them 👀 be sure to say hi! All the way from Japan, Mai and Rintaro came to join us at the SimWorks booth during last weekend’s @made.bike show at Zidell Yards. We were especially proud and thrilled to have Mai and Rintaro of @___ghooost___ in our booth all weekend, selling Twist Flowers, drawing on tote bags, and acting as great ambassadors for a creative and laid back variety of cycling culture, and as undistilled representatives of Japan. They were the talk of the show, Twist Flower Workshop. On top of that, they also hosted a Twist Flower Workshop at the SimWorks Showroom after our RAMEN RIDE by @peace.sports , and we were super thankful that they were met with such warmth and hospitality by folks coming through the booth. We brought a pretty incredible Doppo Ronin that Mai Ohara @casper86 of Ghooost, hand painted. We’re discussing in here what we will ultimately do with it. So many cool little easter eggs to find in this paint scheme. After MADE, it was almost Mai’s first time on an MTB, but she hopped on a hardtail @huntercycles and rode Sandy Ridge, keeping up smoothly with some strong frame builder riders. Watching her, we were all impressed by how naturally talented she is on a bike.🌻 We can definitely tell they’re true bike lovers who can have fun riding just about anything.💘

Our friend @mzk_kwmr is a craftswoman who can make more TwistFlowers than anyone else. She was in an accident and suffered a shattered knee, but she has endured difficult surgeries and rehabilitation and is making an incredible recovery. Until now, my slow production speed alone hasn’t been enough to meet everyone’s demand. However, she is coming back! We expect to have our stock restored by May. RIVENDELL Ramboulet She @casper86 finally built the RIVENDELL bike she had been dreaming of. It’s equipped with a very old freewheel and Shimano 600 components. The center-pull brakes still work perfectly. Since we couldn’t find a matching fork, we’re using a touring bike fork as a substitute, though it’s slightly short. If anyone has an old Rivendell road fork with a 180mm steerer tube that they’d be willing to part with, please DM me. . . . #ghooost #rivendellbicycleworks #rivbike

Iruma A fun and memorable touring ride goes beyond what you imagined— when your rear derailleur breaks, single-gear setup doesn’t work out, end up towing a bicycle for the first time, and you’re impressed by a high school student who rides my beloved bike even better than I do. I was able to assemble @yanagicycle latest frame, "Quiet." It's designed to let you ride at a comfortable speed on farm roads and in fields in a relaxed position that allows for easy breathing. It offers a comfortable ride with only the bare essentials, and is especially tasty on downhill slopes. The clumsy gold lines and little flowers were drawn by @casper86 .
