“FLINCH” explores those final moments before we meet hell, heaven and sometimes just that place right in between, an ode to the beauty and power in surrendering into the known and unknown- a story we all know too well💌

“BLACK SWIM” pt 2 by Latoya Fits
I was inspired to create this project from my own innate attraction to bodies of water; the peace, comfort and connection I feel when I am around it despite for a long time being unable to swim- it felt like there was a joy I was perhaps missing out on which then led to me further reflecting on black joy in the diaspora, class disparities and the limitations we experience due to historical exclusions/traumas and how it permeates into the breath of joy we perhaps feel we can comfortably access. Swimming isn’t just survival/life skill but an act that reminds of us of of the fullness of our humanness 🖤
