@zz___0o SS26 SUBTERRANEANS I’ve been working on this collection for a little less than a year resulting in my biggest body of work yet: 36 looks prompted by the desire to contemplate shame, an overwhelming feeling that I usually tend to avoid. It isn’t a focus that I chose but one that imposed itself as shame is a looming undercurrent of thoughts, it insists on you, shaping how you move. It is simultaneously holding you back yet pushing you towards redefinition as a powerful drive to become sharper, better, cleaner.
Subterraneans are the little shames buried deepest and my intention was to scratch beneath the surface, to expose the private fixations that perniciously drive our choices. This collection is a vestiaire for a religious order solely devoted to the superficial and glamorous, in which shame serves as an advocate not for modesty, but for flamboyance.
