what I listen to when I’m baking
I made these sweets from 11pm until 02:00am so started listening to songs that kept me awake and ended with songs to make me fall asleep
a lemon flavored rosette cake and vanilla cupcakes for my friend of 21 years’ baby shower

Big throwback to December 2025 where I invited the incredible @lxrxba to our last A Dose of AMPFEMININE of the year @operator.radio .
Back in 2020, @deborah__x__ and I were hanging out in the park where April222. was DJing with their BIG (b)ASS speaker and DJ controller!! Truly, I was so in awe and had to hang out with them and their friends. Their music drew me closer, April channeled me 🔊 Asked for contact details and as I was still working as a programmer at Sonic Acts, April222 was immediately written down on my never-ending, but carefully curated list of potential bookings. A year later I did book them for the festival and am so happy I did, it was the start of a special connection.
In this episode we talked about their collectives @iposinspeace &&& @bbbwithluv , Beautyful Black Bodies, Big Belly Babes about taking up space as an intentional act of presence and resistance, claiming visibility, voice and freedom without shrinking to fit expectations. We also explored how their sound draws from Black sonic traditions that travel and transform across borders ending the show with a fire b2b.

Soft Break blends jungle, dubstep, grime, and footwork, moving fluidly between melodic passages and floor-shaking basslines to create unpredictable, immersive sets. We can’t wait!
