You don’t know I’m broke right now, borrowing money just to get to castings, fittings, rehearsals. Smiling like everything is fine. Showing up like nothing in my world is shaking.
You don’t know that the whole time I’m walking down that runway, part of me is proud… but another part of me is wishing my mom was there in the crowd watching me do what I love. And at the same time, I’m feeling guilty that I’m not sitting next to her bed in her moment of need.
