This was my first performance on dance trapeze and my first time sewing my own costume and I’m excited to continue to improve at doing both of those things!

It’s (un)grounded week!
So much I could say about this show, but mostly that I am so grateful to @amesgoesup for including me in this project and to @whos.that.bint for making my MRI techno dreams come true (come hear for yourself)! So excited to be a part of a show dedicated to accessibility for both performers and audience - including ASL interpretation by @bkazenmaddox and livestream viewing!
This act has been a work in progress for a few years now, in dedication to the amazing tube machine that i have been lucky to be in on some of the worst and best days of my life, and to finally getting to move to all the gorgeous complex beats that i can only enjoy in perfect stillness on real MRI day !!!
Excited to share it at @bk_arthaus or by livestream this Wednesday + Friday and maybe other places in the future if you miss it 💋
Over a winter spanning many heartbreaks, many blessings, and many miles - some things I made with my hands for people I love, some of the places I made them 💟

MEET THE CAST
Bailey is an aerialist, artist, and coach. They studied ballet under Derek Phillips in the Powderhorn Rec Center after school from age 5 to 7.
What will happen when we are gone and our homes sit empty, deteriorating, decomposing?
Maybe if we are lucky they will become grand stages for the BUG BALLET

I loved spending the last few months experimenting and climbing all over @johnnyangel_90 and @tommyleick and I’m really proud of this work we created, especially this trio choreography which felt truly interesting and new to me.

So incredibly grateful for this group of artists who shared their time and work with us, to @whos.that.bint for envisioning and brilliant co-facilitation, and to @resource_mpls for hosting us and so many other cool community building experiments!
The three weeks we spent together in this group fed me with so much inspiration and energy - it has been really beautiful to tap into the desire i know so many people feel for rigorous creative community that is not reliant on academia or social media - and to feel like we were able to create one small example of what that can look like.
I feel honored to have witnessed the work of many powerful artists who are confronting empire and creating new worlds in many different ways, and i feel myself really luxuriating in the intimate and exploratory world that this group helped me to hang out in. Excited for future iterations and offshoots of this experiment 🫧
