In 2014, customizing high-res displays meant pulling apart standard panels and rebuilding them from the inside out. For the Elevator Bay at 177 Huntington, we used reconfigured components and a U.S.-made housing to meet tight install tolerances. Today? We’ve onboarded in-house PCB design engineering and built a full end-to-end production pipeline for manufacturing custom displays—including UL certification from the start.

The Oculus design included a central water feature with projection, six illuminated columns and ceiling lighting that were choreographed to specific music pieces that were all in-sync with a water, video projection and lighting show. We collaborated with the onsite electrical contractor, the media-server and content teams to ensure the columns control system was processing all the content details accurately.

The Oculus in the Hard Rock Guitar Hotel is a multi-sensory experience that immerses visitors in sound, light, water choreography and digital projections. It was designed in collaboration with The LAB & Rockwell Group, Senovva, Focus Lighting, and WET Design.
5TEN was just one of the many contractors on this massive project. We joined the team seamlessly to build custom columns used to showcase holographic projections and synchronized lighting. This project created harmony between technology, architecture, nature, and theater.
