Feeling incredibly grateful today to finally hold the 20th release of my label .defaultbox in my hands. Reaching this milestone with this various artists EP really means a lot to me. Huge thanks for the outstanding and unique music to @karenz_sb @gockel.patent @tikoa.pnk and @aem.aze - it’s an amazing feeling to be in such great company with my own contribution, ‘Apollo.’” Big thanks as well to @matteroffactvinyl for the great work and @ronnie_sawlin for the mastering. Podcast 26 - 10.000 BC 10.000 BC is the alias of Berlin-based DJ and @defaultbox label head Patrick, who has been active behind the decks since 2001. Growing up in a suburban town close to Berlin, he discovered electronic music early - thanks to the mixtapes of legendary clubs like E-Werk and Tresor from his brothers or the recordings of the iconic radio broadcast “Rave Satellite”. Over the years Patrick has played at numerous clubs and events in and around Berlin. His sets are strictly vinyl-only, reflecting his deep-rooted love for the raw physical side of DJing. Whether warming up a room or closing it down, his selection is continuously tailored for the right moment. In 2014 he launched his label .defaultbox; in 2023 he pushed things further with the sublabel SBX and in 2025 he added a new series DBX on his imprint .defaultbox. All releases are known for their uncompromising honest sound.
