Words from Doug: “ Round 1 of the MIJ series was great fun, with a super loose track that kept things interesting. Practice went well — I had my lines dialled and felt confident heading into Run 1, but a few mistakes put me back in a really tight category. I managed to improve my time in Run 2 by a second and a half, even with some bigger mistakes in key sections. But unfortunately it still wasn’t quite enough to get the result I was aiming for. Overall, I really enjoyed the weekend and can feel everything starting to come together after the off-season. Looking forward to more racing on the Zerode G3 — this thing absolutely rips“ VC: @jacob.cox__

What a weekend… Track was the best and worst thing ever 🤦‍♂️ each run the track had developed further new lines forming and old ones destroyed. Was definitely an interesting weekend and track. The upper woods section was a real test of bike control and riding ability and something very different to what is normally considered a downhill race track. With all the rain the track received throughout the week those with a @9ish_components rotor guard were definitely at an advantage. Really enjoyed the weekend as a whole great fun with a good crew. Thank you @sterlands for the support over the weekend and especially @windywyemtb and @jacob.cox__ Thankyou very much Unfortunately had a fairly big crash in practice on the Saturday slamming into the bottom of a tree and hurting my leg and wrist so went pretty chill for seeding. Was feeling pretty good all of Sunday practice, top sections of my race run was pretty smooth and good until about halfway through the woods unfortunately came off line and clipped a tree with my bars went super sketchy and off line got my feet out but then they wouldn’t go back in so continued to fall off the pedals for the remainder of the woods as I attempted to continue managed to get one back in after the woods but for the whole middle section a crucial section to carry speed and pedal I couldn’t get my left back in and was continually kicking and missing lines leading to some very sketchy riding managed to get the right back in before the lower woods but didn’t have an awful amount of speed coming into it. Definetly looking forward to some more racing soon before exams and continue training. Onto the next Thankyou borderlinemtb for a good event as always. #mtb #mtbuk #zerodeg3 #beltdrive #gearbox
