Four years! It’s been a hell of a ride so far, managed to meet some seriously cool people along the way, I hope I can keep this going for many more years! I certainly wouldn’t have gotten so far without so many amazing fans, so thank you to anyone who’s came along to shows or bought merch, it means a lot! The promoters who’ve taken a risk and booked the guy with a couple of GameBoys and a Double Bass, Frank especially from Stigmata Promotions. And of course Mrs Psycho who’s put up with my nonsense the whole time! HEADLINER CHANGE! [Apologies!] This is due to a misunderstanding on my side BUT we got the INCREDIBLE @lovethelorelei to make this Antifascist May-Day Parade show a memorable one. When was the last time we had an all ages Punk Rock show in Aberdeen? I'm sure @balnagask.punks may know the answer, but it is indeed a rare occurrence. Please also join the May Day parade that day! It increases in importance every day lately with the right wing gaining the ability to spout horrific things. Please share far and wide ,this is a show for truly everyone sympathetic to the cause of Aberdeen Artists Against Fascism, with bands chosen to be accessible for that reason; maybe there'll even be upcoming surprises 😉

8-Bit Psycho @8bit_psycho at Ivory Blacks 10/04/2026 hosted by Four Horseman Promotions. Stumbled in late to this show which unfortunately lead to a shorter review than normal and devastated I was given on stage was but 1 man, an electric double bass and….A GIANT GAMEBOY! The backing music noted played various styles of 8-but retro gaming combined with own original vocals inspired by the tracks and games alongside double bass. And it wasn’t all for show the skills were very apparent some seriously technical parts on the instrument combined with a psychorockabilly style. If Elvis had a darker cousin who faked his death and reborn and found retro gaming and classical influences and horror you’d get 8-but Psycho. As an opening act the crowd wasn’t enormous and packed but a great crowd for a Friday night and the staff were extremely welcoming and bar stuff lightning as always at Ivory Blacks. One of my favourite live music venues in Glasgow. If you get a chance to see 8-Bit Psycho would highly recommend, if not for the musical ability then at the very least the showmanship and dedication to the unique style! Especially if you’re a fan of retro gaming.
