On January 12, Maj. Gen. Francis Evon, Adjutant General of the Connecticut National Guard, joined senior leaders and family members from both the Vermont and Connecticut National Guards at Camp Johnson, Vermont to honor Task Force Alpine during their color casing ceremony.
This event marked the Vermont unitโs final step before deploying in support of Joint Multinational Training Group Ukraine (JMTG-U), a mission that enhances the readiness and capabilities of Ukrainian forces through multinational partnership and training.
The strong presence of Connecticut National Guard leadership underscored our commitment to supporting Soldiers and Airmen wherever they serve and reinforced the deep bonds between the Connecticut and Vermont Guard communities.
As these Soldiers prepare to represent our nation on the world stage, we stand behind them with pride, gratitude, and full support.

Another proud day for the Connecticut National Guard. Today, we sent off another group of Soldiers from the 1-102nd Infantry Regiment as they departed for their overseas mission in service to our nation.
Major General Evon and senior Connecticut National Guard leaders were on hand to wish the Soldiers well as they boarded their flight. Colonel Frank Tantillo, Commander of the 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, joined in thanking the Soldiers for their dedication and professionalism as they prepared to deploy.
Airmen from the 103rd Airlift Wing played a critical role in making it all happen. Under the leadership of Chief Master Sgt. Glasper, Airmen from her logistics team worked seamlessly with Army command teams to coordinate and facilitate aircraft loading operations, ensuring every Soldier and every piece of equipment was safely loaded and prepared for takeoff.
This joint effort between our Army and Air components demonstrates exactly what makes the Connecticut National Guard exceptional. Mission success depends on teamwork, Soldiers, Airmen, and leaders working together across commands and specialties to serve the state and the nation.
We are proud of the 1-102nd Infantry Regiment and grateful to every member of Connecticutโs Home Team who helped make this mission possible. We wish our Soldiers safe travels and look forward to welcoming them home with honor when their mission is complete.
