ā€œšŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øšŸ„€ā€ Spent the afternoon at the annual Road Knights Cruise-In at Jim Dandy. My favorite annual event since moving to PDX. I don’t always catch it but I’m always happy when I do. Never owned a car and maybe never will but if I ever do it’ll be a boat that can’t leave the city limits. My pops raced cars when he was a kid- broke out all his teeth in a car accident around the time I was born. Told me he always raced a green car (unlucky) and number 13 (unlucky). Had a car that he painted a giant Tweety Bird giving the finger on the hood that the pigs made him paint over. Always been drawn to classic cars and weirdo art. A late start to the day and the rain affected my time spent at the event but I still got to see all the cars- didn’t spot any Rat Finks this year- usually lots of decals, figures and old timers sportin Rat Fink tattoos. Turned some heads with my lil Demonika and that’s worth it’s weight in gold. Posted some pictures from the legendary Jim Dandy Drive-In and the car show up in my stories if you wanna take a look. šŸ‘€ Slide 2.) ā€œJim, Great Sandwich Love, Elvisā€ Slide 3 - 5.) Violence Action Figures Devilman Lady Devilman Series Vol.2 Original Sculpt: Matsuura Ken Produced and Manufactured by: Kaiyodo Japan Collection Toy Club 1999 Finally cracked this one out of the box. Was eager to displayed it and the box had been partially opened for a couple years. A very cool sculpt. The all black is a cool effect but obviously makes it difficult to see details without looking up close. The mangled pile of demon guts beside her has a discarded leather biker jacket anoungst the gore. I put up a story post with her posted more true to the box art- with the box as a backdrop - she is now amoungst the other Devilman Ladies, Demon Birds and other winged demon ladies on my shelf. I’m considering creating an e-zine of sorts to focus more detailed on figures and my collection as I feel this format still doesn’t truly support what it is I’m trying to do. Any interest? Comment below and let me know your thoughts! #Devilman #DevilManLady #GoNagai #JapanCollectionToyClub

Met Gail Simone today, the longest running female writer of Wonder Woman, amongst a multitude of other acclaims at the launch of her new She-Spawn series. Spawn was such an important comic for me as a kid. I would fill sketch books with re-drawings of Spawn covers all the time. The Spawn movie was the last movie I saw with my grandmother before she passed away- and man did I hate it. Might be worthy of a rewatch. While I was standing in line I thought about Jaredā™¾ļø and how he was excited about the extra work that he and I did in Ghostbusters 3 because it was the movie with the lady Ghostbusters and how he thought his daughter would think that was so cool. Unfortunately our roles as biker ghosts were cut from the film and any other Punks that did background work were also cut- except for a bizarre very split second shot of Jaredā™¾ļø out of wardrobe smoking a cigarette on break. I can’t speak from personal experience on the need of representation in comics as I never had the issue myself, finding immediate kinship with the last Czarnian, portrait of a psychopath - Lobo, as a child, but I think I can understand. But I digress - Slide 1.) Gail Simone signing my limited edition She-Spawn print. Slide 2.) personalized She-Spawn print. Edition of 100. Slides 3-5.) 4 cover variants of She-Spawn #1. It was hard to choose a favorite. Gail asked- which I found interesting- I decided on the black and white edition. Slide 6.) though I’m not a collector of Ultraman- (never dove much into the series- I just generally don’t care for robots/spacesuits) I was so drawn to these doofy looking vintage kaiju sofubi from 1983. After some browsing on the internet I learned the character’s name is Telesdon and is apparently a worm of sorts. Which just thrilled me to discover. 🪱 Overall a successful outing and I ran into a local comic friend whose shop unfortunately closed last year to which I volunteered a day of my time to help move. He thanked me again for that and called me a hero- a compliment I don’t take lightly from someone so engrossed in the world of comic books. šŸ’€

Hedonist - ā€œSepulchral Lacerationsā€ LP Demo ā€˜21 There has never been another case where I have hassled a new(er) band to sign an item for me. While my tastes and interests in Metal are particularly limited - I like what I like. Hedonist reminds me of my early days of discovering extreme music - branching out from Punk Rock and stumbling into ā€œHardcore Holocaust vol.IIā€ as a teenager buying my first cassette in the city. Hearing Siege for the first time via Napalm Death, learning about Doom and Bolt Thrower, Carcass and others- Extreme Noise Terror via Para Punx VHS comps and just going to random mixed bill local gigs and seeing Grindcore bands that never released anything or perhaps CD-rs which I refused to listen to at the time. I first seen Hedonist a few years back but I was in absolute agony having broken multiple ribs the night before on the first night of a 13 night tour - I swear I’ve seen them one other time but can’t put my finger on where or when. Regardless- it was sick to see them again and I’m grateful they entertained me by signing my record- I look forward to digging into their new LP which I didn’t include in this post but I’m sure you could easily find as it is on a bigger label and all that. Cool to see them get some recognition and momentum. šŸ’€

ā€œMoucoyama unboxing videoā€ My first Sofubi order from Japan since I started collecting. Was worried about tariffs but was not an issue. I was psyched on the Giant Gorilla Franken mini VAG release- though I don’t love collecting minis or Gacha but it is an easy and affordable way to branch out the artists I collect from. Before I pulled the trigger on ordering the VAG set from a seller in the US I saw Moucoyama had announced a drop - I was working and blindly frantically trying to order while @wolfman_ballerina was blabbing at me about god knows what. It was a bit of a mix and match sort of order- pick out the head, pick out the body, pick out the arms. Meat marble and GID are my favorite colourways and they happened to be available- I wasn’t sure I’d love the barnacle arms so I went with the ā€œsword and punchā€ arms as well- clear was my favorite option available. I’m glad I made the unboxing video as it was a surprise to me that the figure came assembled. I thought I was going to have to track down a hairdryer. As an extra bonus surprise they included 2 of the VAG Giant Gorilla Franken minis - GID which I was hoping to order and Clear which is another style I like. I struggle a bit with the VAG eggs in the video. Under pressure with the lights and camera on me. I’ll make a follow up post of the figures themselves for those that don’t want to deal with my 7 minute ASMR unboxing. Enjoy or don’t. Toys or die. šŸ’€šŸ§ø #SkullCollector #Moucoyama #Unboxing #ASMR #Sofubi

ā€œWolfheadā€ - Lily Seika Jones Signed print from her solo show opening reception today. I love an opportunity to take in an art show and to meet the artist. Especially after a long day of riding my scoot all over town like a psycho and being a total menace. I shared some pictures in my stories if you aren’t local and want to see more. If you are local - do yerself the favour. Her show will be up through the end of the month. @rivuletpaper @nucleusportland IG suggested the Godzilla theme which I find fitting as this piece - to me - resembles Godzilla and Mothra. šŸ¦–šŸ¦‹
