Featuring “MS ISTINYE HOUSE”, designed by Escapefromsofa, a residential design masterclass in Warm Minimalism, blending mid-century modern sophistication with Japandi (Japanese-Scandinavian) influences. The space feels curated rather than decorated, emphasizing “quiet luxury” through high-end textures and sculptural forms.
“MS ISTINYE HOUSE is conceived as a serene residential retreat where contemporary design quietly folds into the natural rhythm of its surroundings. The home embraces a warm, understated elegance, offering a peaceful atmosphere that softens daily life while maintaining a thoughtful urban sophistication.”
One of the striking featured is the smart intentional use of vertical wood slats (inspired by Japanese Shoji screens). These provide a rhythmic privacy filter while creating a beautiful interplay of light and shadow, often referred to as Komorebi (dappled sunlight).
“A layered palette of natural woods, mineral textures, and soft fabrics forms the tactile backbone of the interior. Light filters through generous openings, gently animating the spaces and framing subtle shifts throughout the day. Custom furnishings, sculptural lighting elements, and carefully selected stone accents define the living areas, transforming simple routines into moments of quiet ritual.
The kitchen and dining spaces extend this harmony with refined surfaces, handcrafted cabinetry, and a warm, grounded materiality.
Circulation flows intuitively, encouraging a lived-in comfort while preserving a sense of curated calm. Muted tones and collected objects anchor the home, creating an atmosphere that resonates deeply with its residents’ rhythm.”
