He’ll also be performing tracks from the EP live at the Northampton Guitar Show on Sunday, April 19th.

A big shout out to @newtonestrings for this custom arch top set. They’ve been on for four gigs now and are a massive improvement over the flats I was using before. The wound strings have a finer wind so feel smoother but they don’t feel dead anymore. And being able to select your own custom gauges is fantastic. Before these I was buying a medium set and then replacing the two plain strings with heavier ones. Made in the UK too. Go check ‘em out.

Just delivered to its owner, The Duke is a 45 watt head which I was inspired to create by one of my heros - Duke Robillard. I’m completely in awe of Duke’s ability to recreate such a wide palette of vintage guitar tones and styles. The Duke is designed to produce those wonderful clean and overdriven tones we hear on old jump jive and blues recordings. The feature set of The Duke allows the player to blend overdrive from the pre amp tubes with overdrive from the power tubes. By putting the tone stack at the front end the pre-amp driven tones are not mid-scooped but mid-rich.
The lack of power amp negative feedback allows the power tubes to gradually transition into harmonic distortion; the master volume and input drive control give the player the facility to generate more immediate and aggressive distortion with some intermodulation distortion and the five-position Headroom control gives five power levels, 45 watts down to 8 watts with three different configurations of bias, to produce warm smooth power tube drive and compression.
All in a simple, familiar format.
The Duke has two inputs each with their own way of interacting with your guitar. Input 1 is a high impedance input that brings out the highs in your guitar. Input 2 is low impedance and warms up the tone until you back off the guitar volume and restore the high end.
The built in reverb is designed to work great with both clean and overdriven tones with a rear panel control allowing adjustment of the reverb time from short, room-like to almost infinite.
A transformer balanced cabinet simulated output completes the feature set allowing easy connection into a PA system.
The example is paired with a Compact 1x12 cab loaded with a Celestion G12-65.
