Chaos Junk Space May 22 - May 26 3 Toradze Dead End Tbilisi, Georgia Vato Bakradze, Tamar Chaduneli, Teimuraz Eristavi, Giorgi Vardiashvili, Sopho Sheitnishvili, Giorgi Miminoshvili, Mari Makharoblishvili, Saba Khechoshvili, Ana Chaduneli, Anka Bochorishvili, Elene Latchkepiani, Lola, Anano Janashia, Tinatin Goglidze, Mari Babaev Since 2023, Chaos Concept Store has dedicated a pop-up space to Tbilisi’s emerging art scene, supporting newly graduated artists and students in their final years of study from across Georgia, while also including artists working across different stages of their careers. Chaos Junk Space is the inaugural exhibition of the artists exhibited through-out the years showcasing newly commissioned and pre-existing works by the artists from the programme at a Tbilisi private apartment. ‘Junkspace’ as a state of undifferentiated chaos, idea originally developed by architect Rem Koolhaas and later debated by artist Robert Smithon, art critic Hal Foster and others, became the premise of the curatorial decisions to exhibit otherwise distinct artistic positions. Exhibited artists’s reflect upon various subjects, echoing: ecology, sexuality, gender identity, geo-politics, multiculturalism and other. Curated by Salome Dumbadze and Nini Nebieridze “Chaos Junk Space”creates a space for reflection occupying a historical building without aggressive invasion, rather peaceful coexistence with chaos and its various understandings. Junkspace is not meant to last, in a state of flux it creates perpetual addition to the existing (dis)order. Salome Dumbadze is an artist and co-curator of Tbilisi’s recent series of apartment exhibitions: Five Room Flat (2022) and Six Room Flat (2024). Nini Nebieridze is the founder of Chaos Concept Store and curator of independent project spaces, including house project The Hancock in New York City and Bookstore in Tbilisi. It’s a calming element of worry, Its a tool for deeper learning and an equivalent for cycle. patterns give us an invisible motion of favor that we can prolong. floating wave of communicating somatic urges- not to cover up inevitable. pattern recognition is relief and permanent absurdity, Creative offering, invisible segment of the reading material.patters are gongs.
