NEW PUBLICATION: We are pleased to bring you ‘Penny’ by Dean Edmonds. “Moments, experiences, coincidences, the happenstance, chance encounters, luck, emotions, the familiar, comfort, the discarded. If I see a penny I have to pick it up” D.E., 2024 I’ve been following Dean’s work for about a decade, mostly from afar via the internet: his website and daily posts on Instagram. In ‘the art world’ there’s a term: an ‘artist’s artist’ - to me Dean Edmonds is an artist’s designer. Edmonds has a keen set of eyes (or rather twin set of - he’s a spectacle wearer) through which his immediate day-to-day real world surroundings, coupled with a myriad of far-reaching and eclectic sources, are filtered into the works created in his East London workshop. Present in everything he makes is a distinct understanding of material relations that comes only from both designing and making something - hands-on. There’s always a prevailing sense of intelligent, and often playful, resourcefulness, examples of which are abound in this publication. 41/42, 2024 Dean Edmonds is a furniture designer living in London, UK. Follow the link in our bio to visit the 41/42 shop. Shipping worldwide. @bermudatrips @4one4two
