Last month, 4ocean Foundation crews across Bali showed up and got to work, completing 905 cleanups and pulling 550,055 pounds of trash from rivers, coastlines, and the ocean. To put that into perspective, that’s roughly 25–26 million plastic water bottles collected in just one month. Stacked end to end, those bottles would reach more than 500 times the height of Mount Everest. This is all thanks to your support.
Since launching the new 4ocean Foundation’s impact program in June 2025, that same relentless dedication has added up to 5,393,347 pounds of waste removed from Bali alone. Behind every one of those pounds is a crew member who waded in, hauled it out, and refused to look the other way. The ocean doesn’t wait, and neither do we, because every pound left behind is a pound that doesn’t have to be there.
Every donation keeps our crews in the field, the booms in the rivers, and the momentum going. Thank you. Help us keep going at the link in bio.
On February 18, the ocean crew launched a cleanup operation in the Candi Kusumo and Melaya areas after massive piles of floating trash were discovered.
Conditions were challenging as floodwaters had pushed large amounts of natural debris, like wood, into the same currents as plastic waste, posing a serious risk to the recovery nets used during the operation. To protect the equipment, the crew focused on collecting patches of plastic pollution that had broken off from the main current and drifted into smaller channels.
During the cleanup, the crew also recovered a large ghost net, abandoned fishing gear that can continue trapping marine life for decades, serving as a powerful reminder of why responsible use and disposal of fishing gear is so important.
After hours on the water, the team successfully removed thousands of pounds of waste, taking another step toward a cleaner ocean and a safer habitat for marine life.

5 million pounds of plastic and trash removed from our planet, and it’s all thanks to our 4ocean Foundation supporters and these incredible frontline captains and crew. This impact was exclusively powered by your donations and our philanthropic community advocates.
This Earth Month, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what the global theme of “our power, our planet” truly means. It’s not just a phrase, it’s collective action, individual choices, and a global community showing up day after day. This milestone is proof of that impact.
Every pound represents a decision to show up, to act, and to be part of something bigger than ourselves. It’s hundreds of cleanups, countless pieces of plastic pulled from the ocean, and a mission to create lasting impact for our planet.
The ocean called, you answered. Five million times over.

A very special thank you to our Impact Founders @4ocean , @pacificamericangroup , and Mavrik who helped make this milestone possible.
One net. One interception system. Hundreds of pounds of trash stopped before reaching the ocean.
On May 5th, the river crew in Mendoyo, Bali got to work emptying the river boom, a powerful barrier that works around the clock to intercept waste before it can pollute our ocean. Every haul is proof that simple solutions can make a massive impact.

One plastic bottle doesn’t seem like much, until it’s one of millions🌊
Plastic doesn’t disappear, it ends up in our ocean, our food, and our future.
But, change can be small.
Every year, 11 million metric tons of plastic enters the ocean, and a plastic bottle can take up to 450 years to break down. If every person on Earth skipped just one single-use bottle in their lifetime, that’s over 8 billion pieces of plastic that never get the chance to become part of that number. That’s the power of small choices made by many.
Our crew showed up today and did their part. Now we’re passing it to you, make the choice to fight against plastic pollution by skipping the single-use plastics or donating at the link in our bio.
Local action. Global impact. It starts with one person.
Nuarta, one of the content creators based in Bali, grew up swimming and fishing in the river running through his home village of Mengwi. It wasn’t just a river — it was a resource, a gathering place, a memory. But over time, it filled with trash and the place he loved began to disappear.
What happens to a village river doesn’t stay in the village. Trash that enters waterways travels downstream into the ocean and across borders. Local neglect becomes a global problem.
But the reverse is also true.
With encouragement from his brother, a local village official, Nuarta helped request a river boom — a barrier designed to catch trash before it could flow downstream. The team traveled to Mengwi to complete the installation.
Days later, they returned. The boom was already full.
This is how the ocean gets protected. Not just from the shore, but from the source and led by people who care. Through community leadership, local education, and people like Nuarta who love a place enough to fight for it.
Global change starts here. Please consider supporting these real stories from the frontlines at the link in our bio.
The Ijo Gading river had been busy.
On April 26th, the river crew arrived to reclaim what the river boom had caught. Sorting through a steady stream of incoming waste and separating the organic from the non-organic, the team’s efforts helped restore the river.
This is all thanks to your support. Because of you, every single day, we are stopping waste from reaching the ocean.
Earth Month is over, but WE are just getting started.
While the calendar moves on, our crew doesn’t slow down - boots on the ground, hands in the water, eyes on the future. Because the Earth doesn’t get a break and neither do we.
To our supporters, thank you for making every month Earth Month. Swipe to see the work that never stops, fueled by this community, and powered by purpose. This isn’t just a month for us - this is a movement.

When content creator Qubik first spotted the state of Tanjung Pasir Kepah Beach, he knew he had to say something. After alerting the beach crew, they made the journey out to assess the damage, and what they found was worse than expected.
Waste blanketed the surface and was buried deep beneath the sand, requiring the crew to dig in order to collect it. Hours of hard work later, thousands of pounds of trash had been removed, and the shoreline was transformed.
Places like Tanjung Pasir Kepah are not isolated beaches. What happens there influences surrounding reefs, fisheries, and even distant coastlines through ocean currents.
Keeping it clean is not just about aesthetics. It is about protecting keystone species, like reef-building corals and sea turtles, and preventing a local problem from becoming a global one.
This cleanup is proof that one voice can set everything in motion.
Meet Risallah, a former fisherman turned Ocean Team Unit 4 Captain. After years spent on the water, witnessing the growing impact of pollution firsthand, he made the decision to be part of the solution.
Over the past 7 years, Risallah hasn’t just helped remove waste from the ocean, he’s helped shift perspectives. His journey has influenced those around him, proving that one person’s choice to change can inspire many more.
Real impact starts with individuals, but it grows through communities.
