October 5th c-thru will be opening for a rare live John Beltran performance at San Antonio’s Echo Bridge. I want to personally thank Corbin & Quiet Control for realizing this dream.
My first record, Jessica Bailiff with the dithering effect - Resonant (UK) was released on 10" vinyl, 25 years ago. 3 of the 4 tracks were our very first digital productions coming from various Tascam cassette machines. We went all out on the lead track, the guitar is mic'd 4 or 5 times so all transients hit different & cause a cool effect. I put a lot of time into the vocals. JB step programmed the drums on Yamaha Djx. Many thanks to her for asking me to do this with her & remember her saying that people always do their best work in the beginning so this one should be lit 🔥 . Looking back I love the record more than ever & it influenced the end of my 2nd C-thru record (currently in mastering!). It was reviewed in all of the big magazines at the time AP, Magnet, Wire, etc. Dirty minimal shoegaze.. its only a couple of bucks on discogs. maybe one of the best budget shoegaze 10" out there?
Good news! The 92nd episode of Pacific Spirit has landed gracefully on the World Wide Web. It’s a winding and eurphoric session from Austin, Texas’ C-thru (@4everly ), who released an incredible LP with us last year titled “The Otherworld”. The recording includes some live excerpts from C-thru’s live performance at @publicrecordsnyc earlier this year. The freshly pressed vinyl version of “The Otherworld” is available now at the finer record shops across the globe.
Track one down and sink into a modern classic described as “Charmingly fluffy-minded Balearic ambient downbeats and breaks” by the tastemakers over at @boomkatonline .

C-thru - The Otherworld is a collection of introspective cosmic-leaning dancemusic that gives a healthy nod to the golden era of trance, ambient, anddowntempo from Austin, Texas-based producer Jesse Edwards. Inactive forseveral years, these 10 tracks mark a new chapter for Jesse Edwards. Previousworks include his well-received psychedelic project, Red Morning Chorus, thatincluded Boards of Canada amongst its fans. Edwards began his musicaljourney in the late 90s playing shoegaze and experimental music with JessicaBailiff (Kranky). The pair collaborated on several albums together, includingworks with Flying Saucer Attack, His Name is Alive, and Odd Nosdam (Anticon).
Essential listening for anyone enamoured with the golden era of futuristic audio.

Almost a year has passed since The Otherworld was released via Pacific Rhythm. Thanks to everyone who has supported & for those that have inquired, a vinyl release is just around the corner. The album wasn’t originally intended to be issued on vinyl & we had to drop Out Of Body Gateway & Rose Freq from the 12”. Those tracks are included on the lovely transparent cassette which is still available in European shops & the Pacific Rhythm bandcamp .

This Wednesday evening at Community Garden Corduroi & C-thru will be playing some favorites in celebration of the cassette release of The Otherworld full length on @pacific_rhythm .
