My work-a large 2.5-meter print-is displayed in the museum’s garden. "Forest of Photographs" is KMoPA’s first full-scale outdoor photography exhibition, featuring outstanding works by photographers, including pieces from the museum’s own collection, installed throughout the forest on the museum grounds. Photographs viewed in nature change in beauty with the shifting sunlight, offering a truly impressive experience. This exhibition, where art and nature harmonize, is highly recommended for both art enthusiasts and tourists. Hi everyone My name is Kyosei Yoshiike, and I’m excited to join Void Tokyo as a new member. From today until the 25th, I’ll be taking over this account to share some of my work, as well as introduce a few artists I admire. Last year, I published a photo book titled SALVAGE. To kick things off, I’d like to share a few images from that series today. The series was photographed between 2021 and 2023, and draws a parallel between the ever-rebuilding city of Tokyo and my own memories—expressed through the metaphor of the deep sea. You can also find my full statement on my website, so please feel free to check it out. この度、Void Tokyoの新メンバーになりました吉池巨成と申します。 本日から25日まで、新メンバーとして、僕がアカウントをTakeOverします。 僕の作品や僕が好きなアーティストを紹介していくつもりです。 私は、昨年「SALVAGE」という写真集を作りました。 初日の今日は、その中からいくつか紹介したいと思います。 本シリーズは、2021年から2023年にかけて撮影した作品で、スクラップアンドビルドを繰り返す東京と、自身の記憶を深海になぞらえて表現しています。 Kyosei Yoshiike Born in 1990 in Kanagawa, Japan. Studied film production at university and is currently working as a director in the commercial film industry. Started shooting street photography in 2020, and during the pandemic, began focusing on late-night urban scenes.In 2023, he launched his independent label Hendrix Press, and in early 2024, released his first photo book, SALVAGE. The book was shortlisted for the Dummy Award 2024 and won the Belfast Photo Festival Book Award 2025. The series of the same name was also selected as one of the Top 10 Photographs in the LensCulture Critics' Choice Award 2024, and the work will be exhibited at Photo London 2025. 吉池巨成（Kyosei Yoshiike） 1990 年、神奈川県出身。大学で映画製作を学び、現在は広告映像業界でディレクターとして活動。 2020 年からストリート写真を始め、パンデミックをきっかけに深夜の都市を中心に撮影するようになる。
2023 年に自主レーベル「Hendrix Press」を立ち上げ、2024 年初頭に初の写真集「SALVAGE」を発表。 この写真集は Dummy Award 2024 にてshortlist、Belfast Photofestival BookAward 2025 にてWinnerに選出される。 同名のシリーズで2024年 LensCulture Critics' Choice Award 2024 にてTop10photograph に選出。PhotoLondon2025にて作品が展示される。

Hi, this is Kyosei. Today is the third day of the TakeOver. I just got back to Japan a little while ago. I’ll be posting more photos from London today. The Tube photo by @4ck_hendrix During my stay in London, I found myself frequently riding the underground. Commonly known as “The Tube,” the city’s subway system runs through rounded, semi-cylindrical tunnels—true to its name. For someone small like me, the space felt just right. But for the broad-shouldered local men, it seemed almost like a mold, forcing them to hunch over and squeeze themselves in with visible discomfort. Surrounded by these towering figures, I was on high alert. I’d been warned that pickpockets often target Japanese travelers, so I made it a rule never to let go of my bag. I clutched it tightly, kept it pressed against my chest, and scanned the train car with deliberate caution. But no matter how long I waited, no one paid me the slightest attention. Not to my bag, not even to me. It was almost disappointing—like being overlooked by a danger you had braced for. Before I knew it, I too had started to hunch my back, standing awkwardly by the wall like the others. No one approached. No one expected anything of me. I had become just another piece of the carriage. So, I decided to be the one to make a move. I pulled out my camera and quietly turned my lens toward this strange space—this foreign tube of motion and stillness—and began to capture it. Starting tomorrow, I’ll introduce my favorite artists. Thank you Kyosei 吉池です。 本日はテイクオーバー3日目です。 先ほど日本へ帰国しました。 本日はロンドンのスナップをご紹介します。 The Tube ロンドン滞在中、僕は地下鉄を頻繁に利用した。 通称「The Tube」と呼ばれるこの地下鉄は、その名の通り丸みを帯びた半円柱型のトンネルを走っている。小柄な日本人の僕には何の問題もないその空間も、地元の大男たちにとってはまるで鋳型のようで、彼らは背中をくの字に曲げ、肩をすぼめ、無理やり押し込められているように見えた。 そんな彼らに混じって、僕はというと、日本人を狙ったスリが多いと聞かされていたせいで、移動のたびに警戒心をむき出しにしていた。バッグは体に密着させ、絶対に手を離さず、視線もきょろきょろと油断のないふるまいを心がける。 けれど、待てど暮らせど、誰も僕に興味を示さない。 荷物どころか、僕自身すら空気のような扱いだ。 そうして気づけば、僕もいつの間にか背を丸め、大男たちと同じく壁際に所在なげに立っている。誰からも干渉されず、誰にも期待されず、ただ車両の一部として。 ならばこちらから関わってやろう、と徐にカメラを取り出した。 明日からは、僕の好きなアーティストの方々をご紹介します。 ありがとうございました。 吉池

Hi everyone, I'm Kyosei Today is the second day of Takeover. Today, I’ll show you the photos I took yesterday Broken TV photo by @4ck_hendrix I have been staying in London since last week to participate in Photo London. After spending a few nights at a friend’s place, I spent my last two days at a hotel in Shadwell, East London. The television in my room was broken, and glitch noise ran incessantly across the screen. The television in this room was broken, with constant glitch noise flickering across the screen. The 625 scanning lines created the impression of being relentlessly destroyed, one after another, at a rate of 25 frames per second. I captured each fleeting image as if I were taking street snapshots. The glitches stripped the footage of its original context and meaning, making everything seem to dissolve equally into the noise. This is a record of the various images that flowed across Britain from the night of May 18 to the morning of May 20, 2025, reconstructed through a broken television screen and captured by me, moment by moment, as photographs. 昨日はありがとうございました。 吉池です。 テイクオーバーの2日目です。 今日は、ロンドンで撮影した写真をご紹介します。 ある2日間の映像 先週から僕は、フォトロンドンに参加する為にロンドンに滞在していた。 知人宅に数泊した後、最後の2日間はロンドン東部・Shadwellのホテルに身を置いた。 その部屋のテレビは故障し、画面には絶え間なくグリッチノイズが走っていた。 625本の走査線が、1秒間に25フレームの速度で次々と破壊されたイメージを生み出す。 僕はその瞬間ごとに現れるイメージを、ストリートスナップの感覚で複写していった。 グリッチによって映像は本来の文脈や意味を失い、すべてが等価にノイズの中へと溶けていくように思えた。 これは、2025年5月18日の夜から20日朝にかけてイギリス中に流れた様々な映像が、壊れたテレビ画面を通して再構成され、その瞬間ごとを私が写真として捉えた記録だ。
