Here are just a handful of the images I shot yesterday for the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils Rugby team. It was the senior recognition game and you could tell they were fired up. I have been photographing those seniors since the first time they stepped on the pitch. Through my lens I have watched them come so far from where they started. I am proud of them! This entire team is full of great kids and coaches and working with them over the years has been really fun. Also I can say…these girls are TOUGH! Some of the hits they receive and dish out are brutal!

DRAFT DAY IS HERE!!! It has been a thrill to collaborate with the @nfl to bring these pieces to life - thirty-two team marks painstakingly rendered in wood, paper, ink, paint, and metal. Immensely grateful to the team for giving me such freedom with these symbols that are so important to so many. Really stoked for my hometown to be able to show off a bit. I love it here and can’t believe I get to be a part of this big thing. Huge thanks to @412matt for documenting the entire process and putting together this reel. #pittsburgh #nfldraft #nfldraft2026 #nfl #steelers

I am really proud of my good friend @workerbird and all she has accomplished with art. The NFL has hired her to create new work for the draft and she is totally killing it as I knew she would. Say what you will about the NFL but I think it is great that they found local artists for this when a lot of big corporations would not. I have been documenting Kim and her process throughout this project. In fact I actually had to sign an NDA a while back so it is fun to finally be able to talk about it and brag about Kim’s work. Kim is integrating vintage maps into all of the pieces along with tin. When I saw her with all the maps deciding which ones and pieces to use I had an idea for a portrait. My favorite thing to do is to be able to replicate an idea exactly how I visualized it in my head and that happened with that first image. It was not an easy photo to get and it took some planning but I think it turned out really cool.

Working with the @kaminsciencecenter over the past year to create new imagery for advertising and the website has been a blast. From shooting in the Rangos Giant Cinema with a 71 by 39 foot screen to figuring out how to light the inside of a very tight Cold War era submarine, it was a very unique range of photo shoots. Challenges like these are what excite me about the projects I work on. The team at the Science Center were great to work with and so was @rebelfoxadvertising . Thanks for the assistance on these shoots from @workerbird and @amygarbark . Also a shout out to all of the models, they were really fun to photograph.

I recently did a shoot with the @mightypenguins sled hockey team for UPMC. This organization is really special and they do amazing work. They provide a fun, therapeutic and competitive sled hockey program for physically disabled children and adults. I got to meet so many great people that day and create portraits of Dan McCoy,Mitchell Everly and Darrion Allensworth. These three were inspiring and are so skilled and fast on the ice. The coaches and volunteers were great to talk to and they explained what a positive experience this is for all involved. I saw it first hand with smiles on the faces of so many people of all ages. I am happy to report I didn’t fall on the ice once. The Mighty Penguins provide all of this through sponsors and donations so take a look at their site and donate if you can.

@bluesparrowpgh and @dancinggnome are a great combo to have in Pittsburgh. They make delicious, unique food and have a huge selection of awesome beers they brew right there. These shoots are always a blast and I know I am going to be well taken care of while I’m there. I have one coming up for them this spring and I can’t wait to pig out. Maybe I will post to my story for anyone that wants to come out and be in some photos enjoying themselves. Comment if that is something you would be into!

@lucatino.pgh is now open in Carnegie! Rico and his team have been working hard for a while now to do a full remodel as well as coming up with a menu. This shoot was a lot of fun trying all the brand new stuff. If you stop in I highly recommend you get a focaccia flight. There are a ton of dips/sauces to try but definitely get the mascarpone pesto. I could eat a gallon of it. My friends @bootstrapdesignco did another awesome restaurant design with this one.

This year was not easy and I would say it definitely changed me. When my brother died it didn’t feel real and sometimes it still doesn’t over 9 months later. As we get older the loses get closer and closer together and the truth of time gets louder and harder to ignore. I am sometimes overwhelmed watching how quickly everything can change and has. Still, even in the middle of all of the terrible things there is so much light. Enough to remind me to show up fully and create moments that make this all worth it. I am lucky to still have so many moments of joy this past year. Not because the hard parts didn’t happen, but because I am surrounded by amazing people. I am endlessly grateful for my incredible wife Sarah, for my loving family, and my awesome friends. You all are what kept this year grounded. I am also deeply thankful for the work I get to do. For the collaborations, the trust, and most importantly allowing me to live a creative life. Watching ideas turn into something real, strangers turning into collaborators and collaborators into friends. I traveled, I learned, I did things that were really hard, I stood in places I will never forget. Some of the days of 2025 were incredibly hard. Some of them were magic. Most were somewhere in between. As this year closes, I’m holding all of it. The grief, the gratitude, the work I’m proud of, and the people made it survivable and often made it fun. I’m walking into next year tired, steady, hopeful and thankful for every single person that showed up. I love you all. R.I.P. Skip Jason, & Max

Did you get your @cwpress Pittsburgh steel coin yet? This was a fun video to make especially to see this come from an idea in the head of my buddy @dan.rugh all the way through to it being a coin in my hand. Make sure you get one online now or at @handmadearcade on Saturday! This is a shorter version I edited for Instagram but you can watch the full version on the Commonwealth Press website if you want to learn more about the making of these coins.

I am sure you have heard by now but the Leona’s scoop shop is open! There is so many incredible treats you can get with even more new stuff on the way that you are not going to want to miss! Katie and Christa have been working really hard on this for a long time and they did an amazing job. I helped on all different phases of this build out all the way from demo to adding the final touches right before opening. I saw first hand the passion they have to make this spot something special and I think they nailed it and it’s only going to get better as time goes on! Ice cream (especially their ice cream) is made to be enjoyed year round so get in there soon and treat yourself! @leonasllc
