You all know I love science, a home renovation project, AND the Earth. So what better way to celebrate #EarthDay than to let you all behind the scenes of a little science project I’ve been working on at home!? I got to play window film installer (okay intern) over the holidays thanks to materials sent over from my friends @3m and I am ready to moonlight regularly now. Over the break I was sharing my energy efficiency journey with my close friends, and when I gave them the big update everyone said “hello this is the joy people need right now! Put it on main!” So my people! Here you go!!
If you recall, I’ve been nerding out on science solutions with 3M for ages (we worked together years ago and we’ve all stayed pals) From carbon capture to lowering energy use, helping to making long distance trucking less environmentally impactful, and making the future of construction (hello housing) more efficient!? This science lady is obsessed. So I decided to do a science experiment on my own house — and now it’s part of a larger study, swoon! — and my 90 day results are in. Bills down. Energy use down. Happiness UP!
Thank you to the team for teaching me everything about your high tech films, and teaching me how to apply them too! And the biggest thanks goes to the scientists who made this because you’ve lowered my energy bills in a big way! And THAT is a double game changer.

As part of our commitment to empowering the next generation of innovators, 3M employees volunteered with STARBASE Minnesota to expand access to hands-on STEM learning.
By building 780 model rocket engine mounts and assembling thousands of STEM kits focused on rocket design and Mars exploration, these efforts will reach more than 35,000 students across the state. 🚀
