From the sketchbook of Mette Schelde. Soft pencil lines searching for balance, proportion and movement. What appears immediate is built through small adjustments - a form slowly finding its own direction. For UpDown Stools, Schelde works through an intuitive process where the body remains central from the very beginning. The stools are simple and sculptural in expression, shaped through rhythm, curve and relation rather than strict geometry. Even in sketch form, the work carries a certain physicality - as if the line itself is testing how the object might be inhabited. Still in progress. Wataru Kumano x Bread and Butter Born in Tokyo, in 1980. From 2001 moved to Finland, studied Furniture design at Lahti Polytechnic, and University of Art and Design Helsinki (Aalto University) for postgraduate studies. Since 2008, back to Japan, and he has been a designer at Jasper Morrison Tokyo Studio. Wataru Kumano established own design studio “kumano” in 2011, and works for interior, furniture, product design and project management, internationally. THE SHAPE OF PERCEPTION. Proces, mockup, materiale bearbejdelse og form. Et mini kig ind i en proces, hvor mockups, materialer og rumlige greb bliver levende… I samarbejde med @egecarpets og @gabrielfabrics , har jeg haft fornøjelsen af at designe og udvikle et installations og udstillingsdesign til @3daysofdesign , hvor jeg trækker på viden omkring de tidlige menneskers forståelse af form, overflader og teksturer. Alt dette sættes i relation til min research omkring det moderne menneske, og vores sansninger. 👁️ Kig forbi Christianshavns Kanal 4 under 3daysofdesign, og oplev Gabriel og Ege Carpets smukke produkter, i et rumligt og taktilt univers. Guidede ture: Der vil være guidede ture, hvor jeg vil fortælle om de tidlige menneskers intuitive forhold til form, og hvordan overflader og tekstiler påvirker vores oplevelse af rum, og ikke mindst hvordan skala og materialitet udfolder vores sansning og bevægelse i et rum. 🙂 🌱
