Two labs. One walk. A whole lot of film.
@35mpro Film Lab is teaming up with @east.la.film.shop for a photowalk through the heart of LA - starting in the vibrant streets of Chinatown and winding our way to the historic soul of Olvera Street. East meets west, in every sense of the word.
Our focus will be street photography on black and white film (specifically pushing HP5 film) but if color is calling your name, we would never stop you.
Your guides Jaime @jaime.e.lopezjr from 35M Pro and Matty @mattymattskipper from EastLA Film Lab - two shooters who know their streets.
Free Admission, but RSVP is recommended (link in bio)
All skills are welcome. This includes digital shooters too.
Saturday, May 16 | 2:00PM - 5:00PM

In consideration of the well being of our staff we’ve made a schedule change that will affect our ability to promise out the amount of same day orders as we have in the past, specifically on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays. Saturdays especially. 😕
Having said that, as always we will still be able to accommodate rush orders at our discretion.
Thank you for your understanding.
This is NOT about opening hours, it’s when we say your rolls will be ready. If you have any questions, ask one of our staff members or DM us

Meet at the Chinatown Central Plaza 1:30PM and walk over to the park with us at 2PM. We will set up a meeting spot in the park where folks can drop their things if they like and go participate in free arts workshops, enjoy live music and dancing, meet local community organizations, take pictures, and fly kites. At around 4PM we will head over to Homage Brewing to share photos and hang out for a bit before wrapping up.
Parking and Transportation
Parking is very limited. There are two paid lots at the park on a first-come, first-served basis (~$20 flat fee). If parking on the street around the area, avoid residential streets to the south and east of N. Main Street.
The event recommends using transit, rideshare, or street parking if you’re able-bodied and not accompanying young children.
Metro A Line to Chinatown station is a short walk to the park. Located 1 mile from Union Station, it is accessible from several Metro routes.
If driving you can still use Metro by parking at Union Station; it is $8 a day to park in the Union Station East lot (2 Gateway Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90012), or $16 in the Union Station West B, D & G lot (800 N Alameda St. Los Angeles, CA 90012). From there you can take the Metro A Line (towards Pomona Station) one stop to Chinatown station.
Accessibility The park is flat and paved — stroller and wheelchair accessible.
Let’s enjoy some fresh air, community and photography at the Kite Festival together! 📸
