Sad Diva Lands on the Moon, directed by @moemyatmz is a reflection on repression, resilience, and the surreal ways to survive it. Through May’s eyes, we travel across three worlds: the domestic, the cosmic, and the televised. Cinephony: Voices from the Margins Memory on Human Rights Day Celebration Collaboration with Myanmar Jazz Club - MJC Special thanks to Institute Francais de Birmanie for enabling the 1st edition of Cinephony as well as the filmmakers and musicians.

Cinephony Edition #1: Voices from the Margins December 14th, 2024 (Saturday) 6 pm to 9:30 pm Venue: Institut Francais de Birmanie “Cinephony” - Cinema Symphony is a series Burmese film screenings and live music events in Yangon hosted by 3-ACT. Ranging from unique themes and directions that are critical of the current times of Myanmar, “Cinephony” consists of pop-up film screenings supported with live music acts that compliments the concepts of the films. It aims to bridge the local film and music communities to address key issues and stories as well as highlighting the importance of sound in film. For the 1st Edition of Cinephony, 3-ACT collaborated with The Myanmar Jazz Club for “Voices from the Margins”, which will be held at the Institut Francais de Birmanie as part of the Human Rights day event on December 14th. “Voices from the Margins” refers to the perspectives and experiences of individuals or groups who are often marginalized or overlooked in society. This can include people from diverse backgrounds, such as racial or ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ communities, people with disabilities, and others who may not have a prominent platform to share their stories.Celebrating these voices involve acknowledging their culture, valuing their contributions, and creating space for their narratives to be heard and recognized. In this section, we would like to particularly highlight different ethnic voices and diverse nationalities in Myanmar, that are not put into the forefront of mainstream media or cinema in the country. Pairing with these important films, “Myanmar Contemporary Ensemble” and “Myanmar Jazz Club” will perform fusion music of traditional music, ethic folk songs and contemporary Jazz to further raise the voices of Myanmar’s diverse culture.

Cinephony: Sound Design Masterclass #1 By Czech Sound Designer (Visiting Yangon Film School Lecturer) Ivan Horák Date: 26/10/24 (Saturday) Time: 2 pm to 5 pm Place: Yangon Film School Ivan Horák က Crezh က Sound Designer တစ်ယောက်ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ Field Sound recording ‌နဲ့ Sound Design အများကြီးလုပ်ခဲ့တဲ့အတွေ့အကြုံရှိပြီးတော့ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံမှာလည်း Yangon Film School မှာ sound design နဲ့ပက်သက်ပြီး နည်းပြအနေနဲ့ သင်တန်းပို့ချပေးခဲ့တဲ့ အကြုံအတွေ့အများကြီးလည်းရှိပါတယ်။ လာမယ့် 26 ရက်နေ့မှ Ivan ကနေပြီး Yangon Film School မှာ သူ့လုပ်ခဲ့တဲ့ sound design အတွေ့အကြုံတွေကို လုပ်ခဲ့ဖူးတဲ့ ရုပ်ရှင်တွေကနေ တဆင့် sharing လုပ်ပေးသွားမှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ Sound Designer တစ်ဦးဘယ်လိုအလုပ်လုပ်တဲ့၊ sound design မှာပါ၀င်တဲ့ အသံတွေကို အနုပညာမြောက်စွာဘယ်လိုဖန်းတီးပြုလုပ်ရတယ်ဆိုတဲ့ အတွေ့အကြုံတွေကို master class အနေနဲ့ ပြုလုပ်သွားမှာပါ။

Aung Phyoe | 18:10 min San Kyi’s grandmother, whom the girl has to take care of while her mother tries to provide for the family, has to go to the hospital for good. A new stage in San Kyi’s life opens up, the beginning of which the family sees in her marriage to a wealthier friend of her mother’s who has been helping them for a long time and who likes San Kyi. Her desire, however, goes elsewhere, but to fulfil it she must stand on her own two feet while trusting her closest friend. Accompany Dir.
