The mighty SATURN V Rocket! Only 15 built ever, and 12 were used. 1 of surviving 3 Saturn rockets at Kennedy Space Center Florida. This 3-stage rocket was designed by Wernher von Braun & tool Apollo Missions to the Moon & launched Skylab, our first Space Station.

Launchpad 39A has had over 190 launches since being built in 1967, including all 12 SATURN V rockets & 82 Space Shuttle launches! The historic 1969 APOLLO 11 mission to the moon was launched here & it is currently being leased by SPACEX. In the distance is the Vehicle Assembly Building, currently assembling the upcoming ARTEMIS project launch vehicles.

Ever since watching THE RIGHT STUFF in 1983, I have been fascinated by space exploration! My love of space led me to be an avid reader of Sci-Fi literature, which led to my lifelong study of history! The Carl Sagan quote “The sky calls to us” sums it up perfectly!
On NYE, my mom & I did a 7+ hour VIP Elite guided tour of the Kennedy Space Center! An amazing experience which included behind the scenes visits to launchpads & historic Apollo 11 sites. The standard tour & facilities alone are impressive & we got to go behind the velvet ropes. I LOVED the VAB (Vehicle Assembly Bldg), the Historic Press Sites, The Saturn V Rocket & especially Launchpad 39A.
We also learned about & saw recent advancements in private/commercial space exploration AND learned all about the upcoming ARTEMIS PROJECT & its Orion Mission to the moon. Numerous in-construction rockets, vehicles & launch components for Artemis were everywhere & we got up close to Launchpad 39B which will be the primary Artemis launch site, soon to be part of history itself.

Bucket List Item Completed with my mom today! We saw over 100 manatees in the wild at Blue Spring State Park!! Also saw countless alligators, turtles, fish & birds along the St John’s River.
There were a bunch of Manatee families with youngster’s nursing at their mom’s side! The spring’s water is 72 degrees year round & a natural manatee refuge. They exude a chilled out vibe & a calm serenity could be felt with people whispering in awe. They are such amazing creatures!!
