《The Weight of the Frame》
⠀
I formed a rigid structure that waits for the body to enter,
the body is already searching for the cracks within it,
⠀
Warm skin rests against cold metal.
A broken cage begins to sprout.
⠀
The skin remembers where the metal pressed too hard.

<The Weight of Becoming>
⠀
Before the flight, there is the shell.
⠀
It clings, presses, and shifts the shape
not for flying yet, but for the tension of becoming.
⠀
The glass structures push outward like signals from the body,
fragile attempts still finding their way.
⠀
Here, transformation waits.
Weight comes before the final form.

<The Weight of Fledging> ⠀
This work begins with a simple truth: the body is not born with wings.
The glass structures attached to the torso are not extensions of nature,
but foreign organs imposed onto the skin—
transparent, fragile, and impossibly heavy. ⠀
They do not promise flight.
Instead, they reveal the tension between desire and limitation,
between the longing to transform and the weight of the material that resists it.
⠀
Everything transparent has its gravity.

額外感謝一同參與的 @lin.irenelin
In late 2025, I started my journey in New York to learn more about glassmaking.
Thanks to the “Taiwan Global Pathfinders Initiative”,
I finally got to meet the man who makes Venetian goblet as easily as drinking water. 😭
I really loved the Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass.
Glassmakers from all over the world gather here, and it felt amazing to learn and exchange with everyone.
I’ll share more about the class, what I learned , and a simple introduction to the museum and library soon. ✨
