I defended myself in the trial of my life to leave this earth with the record straight. I had not done the things I was accused of doing. I had not committed those crimes. I was right. I stood on that righteousness. That is strength.

The Mayor’s Office of Arts, Culture and Entertainment (MOACE) will hold a rededication ceremony honoring the stretch of Greenmount Avenue where Afeni, Tupac, and Sekyiwa Shakur made their home. The ceremony will take place on the morning of Friday, May 8, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Mullan Park (4000 Old York Rd.) and is open to the public. The event will feature appearances by representatives from the Baltimore Orioles, and the planting of a Peace Pole, an initiative of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation. The Baltimore Mayor will speak at the ceremony alongside Sekyiwa Shakur, President of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, who will offer reflections on the family’s time in Baltimore.
Special Thank You To All Involved!
