My birthday is exactly one week for now so I wanted to push myself to get this video out. Iām back with a second edition of āFor Los Minasā Sakeā prints! This time around 50% of the proceeds will be directly donated to @focuscongo and just like last time the prints will be made by my favorite Black-owned photo printers; @photodom.nyc
Please reach out to me directly via DMs and/or email (linked above) for purchasing. All Prints will be delivered Early March and can be dropped off In-person if youāre located in NY (outside of Long/Staten Island lol). The original large scale piece is also available for purchase. (Would love for an institution to have it!)
Appreciate yāall, Help me make my bday count this year but supporting and spreading the word!
Huge shout out to @marsoverus@fromentation@cloclo.butter@mannynextdoor@jefflapaix@itsjustsosaa on helping to bring the piece to life.
EDIT:
For transparency the pricing for the print is on a sliding scale of $250-$325.

*Wanting to be more transparent about my practice*
I like to explore and see what I can add to my toolkit. Although not all the works in the upcoming show include concrete, I wanted to talk about how it became part of my practice as of late as Iām exploring this theme of traditions, lineage and shared histories with the use of found objects.
This will be the first time I explore photography outside of the digital collages Iāve made in the past. Shout out to @jefflapaix@itsjustsosaa@mannynextdoor@cloclo.butter@fromentation and my guy @marsoverus (behind the lens) for bringing their ideas and energy to the shoot.
I also appreciate that an image that centers a dirt bike in a NYC/DR context will be shown in the dirt bike capital.
For me this show is an example of less is more. Iāve created intentional pieces that can breathe through out the space at Hooper House rather than packing in a lot of works at once like Iāve done in smaller spaces.
Pull up next Saturday.
Forever grateful,
-W

Concrete brickā¦Letās go on this journey together as I develop these next sculptures. I donāt know how this will go but letās try it. Join me in the studio for a bit.
Just stopped by the billboard location one more time. These slides are a few pieces of content I received while it was up. The rest Iām keeping for myself (because everything isnāt for the internet). Thank you if you pulled up. This wasnāt a small thing for me. I was able to display my art in a public space in the neighborhood I grew up in. I donāt know if youāve ever done that, it hits different. Itās a better feeling than any art fair, gallery or museum show Iāve ever been in. I got to show the work in the same space that inspired it. This is the year I ask for more and settle for less. Iām a āchillā person. No more chill. Proud of myself for pushing this piece to get to this point. More hyping ourselves up as artists moving forward. Thank you to @saveartspace for saying yes. Thank you to @lamarjrobillard being clutch. Thank you to @fromentation@cloclo.butter@mannynextdoor@jefflapaix@itsjustsosaa for saying yes. So much more to come. Much love š
