It’s Mental Health Awareness Week, and the theme this year is Action.
We acknowledge the importance of having mental health support in the workplace for employees.
This is why we have taken action to support our people with dedicated Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) across our sites to be there for colleagues if needed.
In addition to our MHFA’s we also have an Employee Assistance programme, so our people always have access to help if they need it.

We recently hosted four students from @aerobility on their final day of the Junior Aviation Course, at our engineering facility in Lasham.
A team of our apprentices led by Luke, gave the students a tour of our hangars and offered hands-on activities, including dog tag stamping and virtual aircraft marshalling using our VR headset.
We’re honoured to continue our partnership with Aerobility, in inspiring and supporting young people as they take steps towards careers in aviation and aerospace.
Today marks 20 years since 2Excel started operating! 🎉
In 2006, we started with 5 people and 4 aircraft, and have now grown to over 600 people and a fleet of 30 aircraft, working across a range of industries including defence and security, engineering, charter flights, aerial survey, and disaster response, with an excellent industry reputation for doing difficult things well.
Our vision is: “To Excel in aerospace services (in Britain and beyond) in order to build value for all our stakeholders.”
We disrupt established markets with new and innovative solutions, build new markets from first principles and deliver cutting-edge, value-for-money aerospace services from design and certification through contract-air to data exploitation.
Together, our talented and experienced people are building a relevant, resilient and sustainable group which has significant value through which we can benefit our employees and stakeholders alike.
Having won significant major contracts in the past 12 months, we are still growing and our future is incredibly bright as we make inroads into new markets whilst continuing to provide the high levels of service our customers have come to expect as standard.
We have a number of vacancies across all departments and disciplines. If you think you have what it takes to join our hardworking, dedicated, outstanding team to be part of our continuing story, we’d love to hear from you.
For the right candidates, we offer job satisfaction, professional development, recognition and reward.

A training update from Marie, a member of our team at Prestwick.
Her Channel Relay training is ramping up as June approaches! Alongside her regular pool masters sessions, she’s been tackling cold water sea swims at Troon in Scotland, with water temperatures around 9–10°C.
Swimming in a standard costume (wetsuits aren’t allowed under Channel rules), these sessions are building vital cold water resilience ahead of her qualifying swim.
She also recently completed a fantastic training weekend in Anglesey, swimming through the Menai Straits. The conditions were kind, and the focus was on choppy water skills, cold acclimatisation and even night swimming—challenging at first, but ultimately a highlight. It was also a great chance to train with her relay teammates and meet other Channel Relay swimmers.
Next stop is Dover at the end of May, training from the official Channel starting point.
As Marie puts it, it’s all starting to feel very real now.

Jemma a Senior Cabin Crew member at 2Excel Charter and has been part of the team for over seven years; a role she still describes as her dream job. An admitted adrenaline seeker, Jemma has previously skydived in Dubai and hang glided in Rio de Janeiro. This summer, she is taking on another remarkable challenge by wing walking in the UK, all in support of two charities close to her heart.
On Saturday 27 June 2026, Jemma will be completing a charity wing walk to raise money and awareness for DKMS and BrightRed.
In August 2024, Jemma’s husband Liam underwent a stem cell transplant following an extremely difficult period for their family. Nearly two years on, things are thankfully looking much brighter. Liam has since heard from his donor and hopes to meet them in the near future. As a serving member of the Royal Navy, being able to return to the career he loves has been incredibly important to him; something made possible with the support of DKMS and BrightRed.
About the charities
DKMS is an international charity dedicated to fighting blood cancer and blood disorders, raising awareness and funding stem cell transplants for those in need.
BrightRed supports the nurses on Ward 33 at the Freeman Hospital’s Northern Centre for Cancer Care, helping fund staff development, ward improvements, and enhanced patient care.
If you are able to donate, any contribution — big or small — will help these charities continue their vital, life changing work. And if donating is not possible right now, one of the most valuable ways to help is by considering to sign up to become a stem cell donor.

Best of luck with your challenge in support of these two incredible causes.
We’re incredibly proud of Jess from our HR team, who completed the London Marathon on Sunday in support of our long standing charity partner @aerobility .
Jess said: “It was such an incredible day. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so nervous in the days leading up to something – but the moment I crossed the start line, all of that disappeared. The atmosphere was unbelievable. I couldn’t have asked for better support, from the crowds lining the route to everyone who came out to cheer me on.
"I felt strong through the first half, and while miles 20 onwards definitely tested me, I kept pushing forward. Seeing Big Ben and turning the corner towards The Mall is a feeling I’ll never forget – nothing compares to crossing that finish line.”
By taking on this huge personal challenge, Jess has raised vital funds for Aerobility, helping make the magic of flying accessible to people with disabilities.
Congratulations, Jess – a phenomenal achievement, driven by determination, resilience, and purpose.
If you’d like to donate, there’s still time to do so. Visit Jess’s fundraising page (link in our bio).
Join us in wishing Jess, from our HR team, the best as she takes on the London Marathon today!
This is her first marathon and she is running on behalf of @aerobility , our long standing charity partner that transforms lives by making aviation accessible to people with disabilities.
Jess said: “We see time and again first-hand how flight can inspire, empower, and open up a world of possibilities. That’s why I’m proud to be supporting Aerobility – our fantastic charity partner that makes the magic of flying accessible to people with disabilities.
Aerobility gives individuals of all ages the chance to experience the joy of flight. This charity changes lives every day – and now I’m doing my part to help them keep flying high.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. Every donation makes a huge difference, and there’s still time to sponsor me if you’d like."
Jess’s commitment reflects something fundamental to us at 2Excel; our belief that aviation can and should deliver positive social value.
We're all wishing Jess the very best and know that Aerobility is delighted her efforts will help even more people with disabilities to enjoy the magic and wonder of flight.
