When we redesigned the magazine, we intentionally featured female artists on the cover. For our reboot, we kick-off we selected Sol Cotti—the perfect talent to capture the power of women for “I am Worthy.”

The Sewanee magazine redesign introduced "On the Mountain" as an editorial feature to reconnect readers with the campus. To strategize the magazine’s art budget we looked for a photographer who could visit campus for each issue to capture a range of stories, including people, objects, and place. We were fortunate to discover the talented William DeShazer.
The Spring 2026 issue is his third, and he just wrapped up the Fall issue. His warm and thoughtful approach is the perfect match for Sewanee.

The Spring 2026 issue of Sewanee features a story on Ted Dennard, C’89, founder of Savannah Bee Company. Initially drawn to engaging photographs provided by the subject and taken by Mary Britton Senseney, we subsequently hired Senseney to take additional photos. The collaboration resulted in a captivating and cohesive final feature.
