Big 30 🥳
I have had many thoughts about this next milestone which I’ll get into in another post, but mainly I just feel so blessed to have seen through the end of a decade and even more blessed to enter a new one surrounded by so much love. Had to mark the milestone with a cheeky photo booth moment, DUH.🤍🎂
A year of photobooths!
My general rule is, if I see a photobooth, I have to take a picture no matter what I look like. The aim was to get one done a month, and whilst that didn’t necessarily work out, sometimes just having the intent is enough to get **something** done.
Towards the end of 2024 this theme of self perception was something that continuously rang through my mind and I wanted to take that into 2025 with me. Someone once stressed the importance of knowing how you see yourself, and whilst I do think I *know* myself, *seeing* myself is another thing. With my spiritual attachment to photobooths and instant photography as a whole, combined with my deep discomfort of being in front of the camera, this felt like an easy way to self document without any of the pressure a traditional self portrait would bring me.
I proper love these, and I love that I can tell you exactly where each one was taken and where my headspace was at the time which is self documentation done right… right? I love the duality between the intentionality and spontaneity each strip comes with. It’s a one take, no redos type of thing. I REALLY love the inconsistencies in booths and the surprise of what type of image each one will produce - some are flattering, some not so much… which is something I like to lean into, because not every day is a beautiful day, but that doesn’t mean I’m not beautiful. Anyways, I think I’ll carry on with this.🙂‍↕️
P.S If I’ve ever dragged you into a photobooth just know you are highly favoured and much loved by me, this is sacred ground.
P.P.S Gutted I never got one of me in my (2 month) bleached brow era. They might have to make a return in 2026.
New directing work for @nike
Earlier this year I had the pleasure of visiting four European cities and meeting four powerhouses who are not only a byproduct of great coaching, but also passing over the torch to the future.
Berlin you have my heart, Aysche and Julia were a hilarious duo who had me cracking up for the entirety of our trip. Aysche totally thinks I’m cringe (I think showing her my blockblast high score, got me a few brownie points) and Julia called me a matcha drinking hipster when I told her I’m not a huge fan of coffee (she’s not wrong).
Their relationship is one of pure love and respect for both the beautiful game and for one another and you can really see that through the work they do at @buntkicktgut.berlin . What a delight to meet you both and share your story.✨⚽️

Rediscovering storytelling through still image has been fun, working on this project has left me feeling excited to see how I can play with photography a little further as a means of connecting with others. More of this in 2025.✨
