23rd Precinct are buzzing to announce our first new release on the label ‘Thistle In The Glen’ by Levi Heron featuring Kieran Maccormick will be dropping on Wednesday 22nd April 🚀
Levi develops his self-proclaimed unique style of ‘Cèil-tech’ (a mixture of Ceilidh and Techno) here with us on 23rd Precinct in this belter of a track. His debut solo release ‘The Rammy’ kicked things off for this unique fusion of sound, which has now amassed over 2.3 million streams in just over a year 💪
Levi comments on the new track, and how it came about teaming up with musician Kieran Maccormick: “It was one of my pals, Kieran, that wrote the accordion part, I hit him up and asked if he had any ideas for a tune I could use and he sent me back a Snapchat video of a 16 bar melody on the accordion and I was able to make the full song just from that wee video! Once I had the full tune we got him to re-record the part, it’s really like a cèlidh track but with my own hard-hitting twist on it - what I like to call cèil-tech”. 🪗
