LATE POST: We had a great visit with DJ Somar in to talk with the kids about the evolution of the hip-hop DJ and how technology and techniques have changed over the years. For an exercise students got to get on the tables and try their hand at dropping a second record in on beat while another record was playing. Swipe to see how they did!! Big up DJ Somar!!!
LATE POST: We had the trailblazing View in to visit the middle and high school groups. We talked about View’s journey into becoming a DJ, Producer, PhD holder, an executive producer for the FILA project, and his current work with Souse, which he proceeded to demonstrate the methods of on the fly with songs students chose, including one of their own recordings!! We had a good enough time that the high schoolers immediately inquired about hiring him for their prom this year. Gems were dropped and great times were had. Salute Dr View!!
