In 24 hours… we hopped on a plane, flew to Oakland, rented a car, got a hotel room, got fancy… went to a besties wedding! Had a blast. Danced, ate, laughed. And hopped back on a plane. It was awesome.

I had the honor of giving a speech and watching my “wife” of 19 years become someone else’s wife… and I couldn’t be happier for you.

February Date Month ✔️
We came to the Philippines for our honeymoon thinking it would be about beaches, sunsets, and adventure.
And it was.
But more than that, it became a lesson in partnership.
Traveling to a country neither of us had been, where we knew no one, didn’t understand the systems, the roads, the money, the healthcare… it asked more of us than we expected. There were breathtaking moments and not-so-breathtaking ones. Two urgent care visits. Whip-outs, sickness, hangry… Figuring things out in real time.
And through it all, we kept showing up for each other. In patience. In humor. In problem-solving. In quiet reassurance when one of us felt overwhelmed.
This trip reminded me that marriage isn’t just about sharing the beautiful parts of life. It’s about navigating the unknown together — the confusing parts, the stressful parts, the messy parts — and choosing each other again and again on the other side.
Thank you to the Philippines for all of your beauty, all of your grimy grit, and all of your lessons. You gave us more than a honeymoon — you gave us a mirror for what partnership really looks like.
I’m leaving this trip even more committed to this man, deeply grateful for our life together, and very excited to get home to our dog and the world we’re building side by side.
