Orlando Fringe you is saucy! The Sweet Action Canadian Clown Invasion was a success! Four solo clown shows from Sweet Action Theatre headed down south and we returned exhausted, sweaty, and feeling like Mickey after riding the Velocicoaster...multiple interpretations are possible. Tempestt, Jordan, and all the staff, volunteers, and techs at Orlando Fringe did a hell of a job this year. Thank you for awarding The Clowns with the FRINGE HUSTLE AWARD, Mazel Tovs to Victoria on their multi-win night for Poems for God including Outstanding Comedy Solo Show! Also grateful to have received the award for Outstanding Specialty Solo Show with 1-MAN NO-SHOW, and be the only show named as Best of the Fest by both papers!! Here at Sweet Action Theatre, Toronto’s Home for the Ridiculous, we find joy in failure, and this class is no different! We’re going to explore audience connection, group mind, the Neutral body, energy, musicality, rhythm and more - and all with creative play in mind (..and body). As you can see, we have lofty goals for this class. We may fail at reaching them all, but we’re going to have fun trying together. Producing is hard. So, Gordon and I decided to produce a solo show festival at @sweetactiontheatre , aptly named ASSFEST - A Solo Show Festival. The first image is what our brains feel like, and the second image is the poster I put together for the festival. I used @canva (maybe that tag will help with promotion). Many awesome artists (including @rachresnik & @julesvandie from New York City that I helped direct) will be performing this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Sweet Action Theatre - December 9th to 11th.
