BIG CITY MUSIC - Tokyo’s 1LDK.
1LDK [
@1ldk____ ] is Yiqing [
@yyiqpi ] & Goos [
@yoong_intl ]. They met in 2019 in a club called Sexyland in Amsterdam, but it wasn’t until 2025, when Yoong relocated to Tokyo, that the project properly formed. The name comes from a Japanese real estate term for a one-bedroom apartment with a living room and kitchen. Small, intimate, functional. Exactly where everything gets cooked up.
Goos runs the music label Seedlink⁺ [
@seedlink.plus ] with friends Timo [
@ity2000 ], Boudy [
@_gomeee ] and Lily [
@l1.l_1 ] , which 1LDK operates under. Indeed, 1LDK is a family affair, Carlos [
@a.femme.slur ] shoots the covers and does the styling for Yiqing’s nonchalant swag, Koz[
@kozm8 ] & Amadeo [
@amadeo__o ] [
@towergroup ] directs the music videos. Together in Yiqing’s 1LDK on the fifth floor of a white old building in Nakano with the sweetest view across the city, that's where the family link up, make their songs and plan their visuals.
Both members come from club culture. Yiqing has been active in the music scene in Tokyo for several years. For 1LDK she sings for the first time, telling graphic, romantic stories rooted in real encounters and life experiences across Okinawa, Tokyo, Warsaw, Paris and Hong Kong. Her approach is laid back, non-chalant, even without prior vocal training the result is awesome. Goos has been producing since 2012, committed to intuition and the idea that the first take is often the best take, but recognises the fact that meeting Yiqing and starting 1LDK has been the most fun and exciting project he has ever worked on.
In their first year they opened for Mechatok and Ecco2k, and performed at the legendary Hysteric Glamour Shop in Harajuku all in their first months as an officially formed duo band. That's exceptional for a newly formed band so it's exciting to see where the ride goes after the new EP is fully out there, sabukaru had the chance to listen to a preview of the EP which is a compilation of swaggy bangers only.
Their EP arrives April 2026 via Seedlink⁺. Big city music, made in a 1 Living Dining Kitchen.
