Happy Holiday Week! A month past the The Wrong Biennale pavilion opening, and though we had some delay from work, now we’d like to introduce the last two artists participating: Frédérick Maheux, and Zhengyang & Zhengzhou Huang.
This image shows Frédérick’s and the Huang twins‘ work digitally doubled together using AI tools.
Frédérick Maheux is a multimedia artist and PhD candidate exploring technological subversion and the philosophy of noise. His project, Cyborg T.A.R.O.T., is an arcade-style installation that reimagines fortune-telling as a cybernetic exchange. By inserting a gloved hand into the machine, users trigger a unique reading where generative AI and glitch aesthetics process their image through feedback loops, treating tarot not as divination, but as an android organism where bodies and devices contaminate and alter one another.
Zhengyang & Zhengzhou Huang are a twin artist duo based between Chongqing and Los Angeles whose work bridges digital phenomena with tangible experience. Their video work, Digital Twin, narrates the creation of an AI-generated ”third twin“ prompted by a pig plushie acting as an agent of their shared data. The project explores the limits of user control in generative intelligence alongside the many human roles we request AI to be.
Digital Double is part of The Wrong Biennale @thewrong.biennale , featuring works by 10 international artists that interrogate our symbiotic relationship with AI.
Happy Weekend! Today, the ’Digital Double‘ lens focuses on Zhuoyu Zhang @z.xyz.y & Anže Sekelj @bemyforest
This image shows Zhuoyu’s and Anže‘s work digitally doubled together using AI tools.
Zhuoyu Zhang is a New York–based new media artist exploring how digital infrastructures script identity and memory. Zhuoyu’s interactive visual novel, Opt-Out.IO, casts the player as an amnesiac student guided by a mysterious companion. This companion is slowly revealed to be a predatory ”digital double,“ an optimized identity favored by the system. Using a ”string-of-pearls“ narrative and glitch aesthetics, the work exposes the illusion of agency and the mechanics of control in our data-driven lives.
Anže Sekelj is a media artist who challenges perceptions of space and culture through installation and sound. Anže’s project, Acts of Data: Stones, uses a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) trained on the ”Scan the World“ dataset of 3D-scanned museum artifacts. The AI generates entirely new, speculative 3D sculptures, critically examining the historical and cultural biases embedded in archives. By creating ”new“ historical forms, the work provokes discussion on alternative histories and the power dynamics that shape our understanding of art.

Digital Double’s spotlight of the day: Michael Luo @anything_4_cv & Sepideh Takshi @sepdeh_t
This image shows Michael’s and Sepideh‘s work digitally doubled together using Al tools.
Michael Luo is a Los Angeles–based media artist, game maker, and educator whose work explores interactivity, digital/social culture, and experimental media. Michael’s live computer simulation Juvenoia drifts between a vanished village in Southwest China and dreamlike American landscapes. Built with photogrammetry, drawings, and six Twine poems, it maps diasporic nostalgia and unease, asking how identity is reshaped across cultures and systems.
Sepideh Takshi is a UK-based XR artist and researcher investigating archives, memory, and the “digital double.” Sepideh’s participatory web application reimagines One Thousand and One Nights as a living archive: each participant selects 3–5 emojis and a theme, and generative models return a miniature-style image and a new tale. Users become contemporary Scheherazades, blurring authorship, memory, and identity as stories proliferate through AI.

For this post, we feature projects done by Hyun Cho @dothedotheg and Minrui Qiao @miri.q_03 , which will be shown for The Wrong Biennale.
𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗿𝘂𝗶 𝗤𝗶𝗮𝗼 is an artist and researcher based in Beijing, exploring logic, mediation, and the hidden languages of machines. Her code-based installation, 𝙏𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙀, uses a cybernetic loop to transform the audience’s voice into raw data, creating a distorted simulation, exploring agency in feedback loops and how humans and nonhumans co-generate meaning.
𝗛𝘆𝘂𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗼 is a Los Angeles and Seoul-based artist exploring social dynamics and interaction in digital worlds. Through video, games, and installation, she examines relationships and human-technology connections. Her live computer simulation, 𝙂𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙆𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜, presents an unfair battle between an AI-trained drone and Amazon delivery trucks, exposing the parallel power structures between military technology and platform capitalism.

In our relationship with technology, we’ve always fought for control. When it comes to an artificial thinking process—so similar to us, yet so distant, suddenly, control becomes ambiguous.
𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 is part of 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗲 @thewrong.biennale opening Nov 1, featuring works by 10 international artists. This image shows two of the participating artists — Parag K Mital’s @pkmital and Dasul Kim’s @dsuriii work doubled together using AI tools.
𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴 is an artist and researcher working between computational arts and machine learning, and the founder of The Garden in the Machine @emergentic.ai . He developed a multi-agentic system that runs behind his work, 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙪𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨. Through two AI agents, each driven by different techno-narratives, Parag stages an AI dialogue that exposes how corporate optimism shapes our shared beliefs.
𝗗𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗹 is a media artist whose practice is grounded in Korean traditions and culture as well as Eastern philosophy, and her work unfolds with a personal intimacy towards the digital. Her 𝙇𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 and 𝙀8 ∞ 𝙀8 (𝘾𝙤𝙨𝙢𝙤𝙨) reflect on feeling both present and distant in digital space. Using diffusion models, vision tests, and personal imagery transformed into abstract color fields, Dasul explores how the self is reconstructed through data and memory.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing the artists showing works for The Wrong Biennale.

We collected data, rebuilt ourselves in Unreal, and fine tuned AI models to get this third “twin”, who’s simultaneously a relative and a stranger.

Digital Twin originates from our personal exploration as twins and extends outward, examining the feedback loop between artificial intelligence and human identity.
This video narrates the creation of a ”digital twin“, an AI-generated entity that synthesizes both of our physical and emotional characteristics. Central to our narrative is our pig plushie, an intimately personal object that naturally embodies our shared experiences and emotions. In the story, this plushie symbolizes the input source for AI: the absorbed memories and intimate data become foundational elements for AI’s learning and generation processes.
