Corsetry is the skeleton (bone) used, that gives your outfit structure and helps contour your body into that shape.

The tie back is just to help reinforce the hold of the skeleton.
And that isn’t the only way to reinforce, you could simply ask your dressmaker to opt for a strong zipper like YKK, SBS or any other zipper in the market specifically designed to hold corset skeletons
