Misconception is a "drunkard's noise" personally I won't advise any actor to go without a Manager... Else you'll be devalued and misunderstood. Your craft would be used against you... Giving you silly roles that would mess with you state of mind and your self esteem... Then get your followers to hate you (sorry oh)
