What does it take to bring the past to life?
In May 1776, Virginia stood at the center of a decision that would shape a nation. As America approaches its 250th anniversary, the Fifth Virginia Convention returns to the stage.
Go behind the scenes of a new evening program debuting this May 15 & 16: ‘The Flame of Revolution.’. See how it all comes together, from the minds of historians and performing arts to the hands of Coach & Livestock and tradespeople. Each team plays a role in bringing historical events back to life, transforming our streets into an immersive stage.

❤️Looking forward to hopefully being able to seeing some of these videos online, and/or eventually on our next trip up to CW. I wish I could be there too shooting production stills, which has been my work for over three decades. About the same amount of time we’ve been CWF contributors.
Love the history there, as it’s part of our family heritage too going back to the 1600s. And our children grew up going to CW and my sister attended a teacher summer camp too one year.
We have strong family ties on the grounds of Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown and Gloucester, and we feel it while there….
Wife and I will be there to witness your re-creation of the May 15, 1776 Fifth Virginia Convention momentous vote. Know y’all been working on it for a year, at least. Can’t wait! Been coming 49 years!
